I've got a list of keywords, some aren't even registering on google trends. It just says there is not enough data.

Is there a way to find out if people are even using these keywords (and how often) before I bother using them, if so what is it? I read something about this a while ago but I'll be damned if I could find it again.

Any help would be good.

The Overture keyword suggestion tool will show you how much a term was searched on Yahoo for the previous month.

SEO Book combines Google, MSN, Yahoo, Wordtracker, & Keyword discovery to show you how much searches a particular term gets each month.

Keyword Discover well as above shows you the amount of searches for any keyword but they do cost money.

Wordtracker gives you daily search term estimates instead of monthly and they also have a free tool that you can use.
 
wow! What an amazing post. I almost feel like my previous keyword research was a complete waste of time. I am now going to have to change the direction of my whole website.
