How many vacations do you take per year?

I try to travel at least once per year but sometimes time really don't allow for such luxury. Life is so hectic!

At least 7, if not more. Next year I am planning on travelling all twelve months and working 2-3 days a week. Life is short my friends, young it while it lasts.

this is exactly my mindset right now. I'm working and traveling every single day for my job, and it's starting to get old. Not to mention I worked my fucking balls off this last quarter and should be making a 6K bonus, but they're only saying i made $3k, which i'm disputing about. But this is kind of a turning point. I have saved every penny i've made since august except for student loans and taking my gf out. I can probably live off what i have for 2 years. I'm 23, and the more i think about it, the more it just doesn't make sense for me to bust my ass at a corporate job at such a young age just with hopes of making 100k/year in what ... 5 years? Then i'm 28 ... fuuuuck that

To (mis)quote Sohan - While you are on a vacation, your competitor is testing, building campaigns and optimizing away making more and more money.

Taking into account the usual allotment plus bank holidays just about everyone in Europe that is working a day job gets 7-8 weeks by default. I think my girlfriend had 34 days this year and she carried 5 from last year. I work for myself now though so I don't take nearly as many.

Picture # 1 is not the caribbean, it's Kailua (Lanaki) on Oahu in Hawaii. Been there several times, it's my favorite beach in all the hawaiian islands. But I go the caribbean twice a year, going to nassau sept 9.

When you work for yourself you can go on vacation almost whenever you want. It can be 3 times one year, it can be 0 time next year... :) If you don't feel like you need to take vacation you simply don't. Of course that does not mean you can not go on "weekend holidays" in your own country. Does that count as vacation?

It's important to step away from work and relax too. Remember what you work for, but stay on your grind. Happens almost once a month for me.

Crap, I haven't had a proper vacation in about 5 years when we went to Puerta Villarta for 10 days. I go to Myrtle Beach for a week every year for a guys golf trip which is great, but any other traveling I've done lately hasn't been for much of a vacation. Even harder now with 2 kids. One day the wife and I will get back to Tahiti or some place tropical.

this! lanikai beach...5 minutes away from my house. probably one of the prettiest beaches you are going to find anywhere.

I also made the move to a paradise beach (Philippines). Similar to the pic above but whiter sand. Hardly ever go to it now though as I like to be online and its rainy season, but its nice to have paradise 2 minutes from my appartment. My vacation is a week in a city twice a year. I feel far happier now with a very nice local gf, great location and no 9-5 like I had in the UK. Even when I was scraping by with $20 a day from article writing I knew this was the right choice. My plan is to move to the Mediterranean in the future. Living in a nice location is what motivates me.

You got the right idea. Find a place to live life as a vacation. Very Nice;-)
