how much are you guys losing by making use of PayPal

i have a question

how to get that paypal credit card

ive googled, i have searched on paypal...without luck

help needed pls :D tnx
I do not think that you can get a paypal credit card. What you are looking for is a debit card of paypal

that also might be true, however if you use paypal to transfer money across countries, do end up paying quite a percentage on the transactions. in some cases you have to pay 3.5% + 1%. sometime is is more also.

Only if the money was sent in the sender's original currency does that happen. But yes every merchant has their currency exchange policy, often used to offset the value once converted. In your account's settings you can actually prevent that fee (prolonging the inevitable) by setting it up not to convert foreign currencies upon receival. Basically meaning you'll have a balance in a different currency until it is converted.

Like others, it's just a cost of business. If I didn't use Paypal, I'd have a harder time selling stuff on eBay, and when dealing with work from sites like this, it's the best way to get paid, I haven't had anyone in the last few years ask to send me a check because they don't have a Paypal account.

that would sux

Hell some competitors such as paymate (one of the few methods actually allowed by ebay besides paypal), require you to bring in no less than 36,000$ in a 12 month period in order to use them.
seriously?

from what i have read. VCC can be used for PP

seriously?

Goto paymate.com, click register under sellers.

Select "US Standard Account"

Minimum requirements

An established merchant selling on a website with an expected minimum of $36,000 in sales within the next 12 months.

Or,

If a seller on eBay then a minimum of 100 feedback points and an expected minimum of $36,000 in sales via Paymate in the next 12 months.

eBay only accepts

PayPal What just bout everyone uses
ProPay No min requirement, but you gota pay a monthly fee (~30 to 50) plus the transaction fee
Moneybookers No min that I know of, can't really accept payments easily except thru ebay, otherwise you gota contact them to setup for special merchant arrangements
Paymate As above, you gota make a min of 36K in the next 12 months to be elgible
Credit card or debit card processed through the seller's Internet merchant account

Basically the only options that don't act strictly like signing up for authorize.net or similar is paypal and moneybookers. You can't accept cash, money orders, checks, western union, or anything not on the list above with the exception of certain items (houses, boats, cars, real estate property, etc).

Some point's to summarize.

1. Get used to PayPal fees if you want to do business with them & start accept more of the mass payments. But the buyer get's no protection when he makes a mass payment.

2. PayPal Debit Card is only available in U.S & (not sure about Canada) only.

3. Don't validate your accounts with VCC's online. Once your account is held for some kind of investigation on any transaction then you are fucked. Google "PayPal Sucks" for more on what I am saying.

u seem to know a lot about paypal...i hope ur making more than ur losing

Depends on where your customers/clients/payer is at. Myself for example if I didn't accept paypal for most coding task I do, I'd lose out on more jobs than I'd gain. And if I'm dealing mainly with US currency, 2-3% is pretty standard on top of the fact you don't gota pay a monthly service fee.

But... if you still think you're losing too much, stop using it and just have everyone send you a money order. :p
