How much to charge this SEO client?

I don't mean to sound like a dick here, but you sound like you're in over your head. I would consider potentially passing on the contract considering you don't have any idea what kind of revenue you want, your hourly rate, or a specific strategy to get this accomplished. I would imagine you lack contracts, proper invoicing and bookkeeping, some sort of project management solution, reporting templates and tools, and site auditing plans. Lot's of shit involved in doing this properly.

You might be better off apprenticing with someone for a while to learn the ropes.
Np. I do have contracts, bookkeeping, I can easily get an invoice template (not too much is required over here) No project management solution, admittedly, but I do know what I'm gonna do to the website, and my linking strategy (it's all diagrammed out)

Everything is sorted tbh, it's just for this one guy, I'm not quite sure what level he'd accept, and which he'd tell me to get lost.

P.S. didn't mean the icon on this post, accidentally clicked on it lol.

I would suggest $2k-3k per month. heck people charge local businesses $400/month even in really soft niches. Ask $3k initially but if he tries to tell you to get lost, propose $2k. But don't go lower than that.

I find that pricing seo can sometimes be challenging-we get a handful of client quotes daily and to price it spot on, there is quite a bit of research that has to be done IMO.
Our salespeople always want a quick and simple price breakdown, but in the end if you don't check the competition, the clients site, search volume et al, there's a good chance you can miss the mark.

while I am not overly knowledgable in seo I would say build up a decent mini net ... seo the mini net with quality backlinks... get his social networking profile up'd... post back to those sites chasing the respective keywords as well as using plugins that post links to the articles to his social networking pages to save time.. get links back to his site from other authorative sites and go from there.. charge of course... be agreesive for 5 months with it and you should smash it for him... dont be affraid to charge 5-6k per month to cover costs and make some $$$

2k per month.....get on the phone with him, tell what youre going to do, explain the values, and get a yes/no on the campaign. Keep following up with him until he gives u a solid no. Keep push and working for more deals with other people and dont put to much time into the proposal/estimate as most are just tire kickers.
