How often do you catch the common cold/flu and how badly does it affect you at work?

I realized that since I work from home my immune system isn't what it used to be. I used to get sick once every 2-3 years, now it's like once a year. Usually I get guaranteed if I do too much partying on the week-end combined with not enough sleep.

Do you have any tips to strengthen your immune system? Multi-vitamins tablets? Echinacea? Ginseng? What works for you?

I only get sick pretty bad like once a year.

If you want to improve your immune system than you should stop washing your hands when you go to the bathroom. Especially in public restrooms. I never wash my hands after #1 or #2 and I think thats really why I hardly get sick.

i haven't been sick in over 5 years.

don't eat buffets or shitty fast food.

workout regularly and take these vitamins:

wash your hands. don't touch your face. in flu season dont hang out in crowded unventilated spaces. dont eat at open buffets or salad bars... when people in your area are coughing or sneezing, stay away from crowded spaces, dont eat out!.

You will get sick much less if you do any of these things

Once an year is better than normal. I heard someone sprays cancer-causing-stuffs in the sky :uhoh2:

You get sick once a year? Start washing your hands!

I'm a huge fan of monolaurin. I prefer the pellets over capsules. I have my entire family on Lauricidin.

disclaimer: I also do work for the company. It's still great stuff though, give it a try.

Maybe once a year tops, not very sick though. Usually a cold or something small like that

Once or twice a year. I'd usually get sick if I drank shitty alcohol like UV. Other than that I don't touch my eyes with my fingers and have a good diet.

Whenever I'm in a club/pub I really hate using the toilets. You notice a lot of dirty bastards not washing their hands and then grabbing the handles. It's easy to see how germs spread. Stay away from the peanut jar at the bar as well lol. There are ways to maintain the immune system, but washing hands as much as possible is key.:1bluewinky:

For awhile I got sick a lot, but then stopped drinking off the public fountain at the gym... Sickness stopped QUICKLY.

Haven't been sick or had a major cold for years now. Workout / stay in shape and eat a balanced diet.

I get sick once every year or two. I'm a frequent hand washer, and risk offending the wife when she is sniffly because I hate being sick.

It is a work stopper for me. The last cold I had was vicious, and all I could do was eat, sleep, watch tv, and make snot.

I think my current streak of not being sick is due to getting out more, walking the dogs twice per day, just generally being more active. Oh, and don't get sloppy drunk, I think it's a serious drain on your system being hungover. Beyond a simple multi-vitamin or a supplement if you require it, there's no immunity in a pill.

I work at home as well and I rarely go out. Since working at home I notice I easily get sick compared when I have to go out and to the office. I think my immune system turned lax when I stay mostly at home, so now I make it a point to go out sometimes and eat street food.

I seem to get sick every sunday morning. Couldn't have to do with the fact that I go out on Friday and Saturday, I think.

I grew up getting sick 6-15 times a year. Every winter I was sick during the holidays without fail. For 20 years in a row, no shit. My parents called my holiday sickness "tonsilitis" but no doctor ever saw anything out of the ordinary cold wrong with my tonsils.

Then I got married and my wife is a super clean freak. I had to adapt to washing my hands 100 times a day and other high-hygene standards such as doing more laundry. and carrying wet wipes with us everywhere we go.

Not complaining though... Haven't been sick but one single time in 10 years now!

(And that time I stupidly ate at an open buffet where anyone could have sneezed right on my food. Never again!)
