how to deal with your neighbours

I was trying to sell Acai to my neighbors once. They refused, I got angry and we never spoke again.

Also once I got into fight with other neighbor. He was claiming DigitalPoint is better than WF. I said "bro DP is for pussies, WF is tough yo!" and the fight begun. He beat me without problem. Now even his 5 and 7 year old kids spit on me when they see me and he forced me to wear DP t-shirt to work.

I'm usually friendly with my neighbors. I say "hello" when I see them, or if they engage in small conversation I usually play along and just go with the flow. I also often invite them over for dinner so we can even be more fake nice to each other.

JK hate em all.

I'm always super nice to my neighbors, whenever I move into a new place I always bake my direct neighbors some cookies and try to introduce myself to at least 2 houses down as well.

If I have a big party, I'll invite them, if I have a BBQ then they are invited. I've also helped my neighbors out when they've needed a babysitter or just a time out. I've made some great friends and I've never had any issues with my neighbors whatsoever. Not only that, but after awhile my neighbors start doing the same small gestures of kindness to me as well and before you know it the street gets along and you can have street parties and BBQs.

I guess that's just how my parents brought me up though.

Having shit like above makes your property value skyrocket as well.

Yep, same as 10cent... If they're not complete dicks from the get go, then I befriend them for sure... It helps when you go out of town and need small things done like getting your mail or watering your garden etc...

Plus, sometimes you make great friends!

always try to be friendly with neighbors although there are always some scumbags you can skip those.

I don't care to know my neighbors, since I really don't like the mentality of the people around here.

But I just got back from a trip to Golden, CO and those neighbors I would get to know. Plan on moving there within the year. So, I guess I better brush up on my casserole baking or whatever it is people do now a days to get to know their neighbors.

I find that hard to believe.

i like to look through their window and watch them hump like they're training for the olympics.

This is why I live on 5 acres in the woods (yet conveniently enough located to have a fiber connection to my house).

My neighbors are awesome and we get along just fine. We can also completely ignore each other at will due to the distance between houses (not to mention the woods).

Straight line distance they are probably 200 feet away - but you have to go down the driveway, walk the cul-de-sac, and then down their driveway - or through the woods.

The neighbor we really like have a kid about the same age as ours - so we cut a path through the woods to their house and the kids have free reign to run back and forth.

I live next to a gay couple. They are real nice guys, both proffesionals, they aren't the flamboyant kind but you would know they are gay when you meet them. Last summer another gay couple bought the house accross the street. So one day after they moved in, I was mowing my lawn and one of them skips across the street like a little fairy and introduces himself. I turn off the mower, wipe the sweat from my brow with my forearm and start to chat with him. Nice guy at first, but I got a strange vibe from him. I invited him in my house for a lemonade and to introduce him to my wife, and we make some small chat and he leaves.

A couple weeks later I was mowing my lawn again. And again he skips across the street with his hand waiving in the air and this time he hugs me, and says "I missed you". I laughed it off and being the naive nice neighbor that I am I thought to myself he is acting this way because he is real feminine homo and I shouldn't make a big deal about it, he's not coming onto me, this is just how he is. So he invites me over to see his new house.

I oblige and he shows me his house. He shows me the kitchen and how he wants to redecorate, the antique chandelier in the living room, the library, the butlers quarters and than he takes me to a room upstairs that faces straight to my house. From the window in that room you can see my entire front lawn clearly. In that room was nothing but a chair close to the window and a box of tissues on the floor. He jokingly said that he "watches" me from this room. SO again, being the naive neighbor that I am thought he was joking and didn't think much of it.

Than I started to get suspicious after my wife takes a vacation to see her folks, and he invites me to his beach house. I declined. Than he said that since my wife is away we should hang out more so I wont be lonely. Declined again. Than he offers to help me with some yard work I needed to get done. Declined again. So long story short I figured that this guy was into me and I needed to keep away from him. I mowed my lawn at weird hours intentionally so he couldn't come and talk to me.

The last time I saw him was right before the fall and I was mowing my lawn for the last time of the year. I was trying to mow fast so he didn't catch me, or even if he did maybe he would think I am in a hurry so he shouldn't bother me. Well he must have been watching me from his room upstairs because he jolted across the street and came right up to me. I didn't turn the mower off right away hoping he would get the point that I was busy, but he didn't and just started up a conversation instead. I am really bad at being intentionally rude, so i turned the mower off to hear what he was saying. As soon as I turned the mower off, he said to me "You have beautiful eyes" and again "I missed you" and comes towards me to give me a hug. I position myself so that he couldn't give me a real hug and he ends up putting his hands on breast and squeezes.

End of story.
