How to find affiliates

Hey guys, I dont want to plug my own site, so I dont want to mention it. But I have kind of hit a wall in terms of finding affiliate (especially through crawling).

Can You guys gimme good tips on finding affiliates?

Also when you get an email from an Affiliate Manager or Marketing Manager, in the initial email, do you guys like it to be short and to the point or longer with full details?
