I just registered a new domain two months ago and this is what I've done so far to the site:
- Added 10 pages of content over a 2 week period
- Submitted around 40 spun articles to article directories
- 5 blog comments
- 1 -2 profile links
- 20 Social Bookmarks
- Pinged everything that moved
The niche and keywords that I am targeting have over 5,000 exact searches per month in a very lucrative niche. (payday loan niche) Competition has less than 100 backlinks actively showing in siteexplorer.yahoo.com with a PR of 1. Everyone else within the top 10 spots are article directories, and news sites ( No one with a PR of 2 or more.) Because this is a new site, I obviously don't want to throw too many links at it at once. (but concerned that I may have overdone it already?)
At first, Google was sending about 10 searches per day my way. Which is not a lot, but its a very specific niche. I was getting a very nice CTR to the advertiser's landing page, but no conversions. There just isn't enough data yet to make an informed decision. Pretty certain the keywords will convert once traffic starts coming.
However, I believe I did something that fucked everything up. Google is no longer sending traffic. (The sky is falling!)
So, based on the limited information that I have posted, do you think that I have "dun goofed up?" Or, am I just being paranoid? Should I continue building more links (articles, social bookmarking, profile links, blog commenting, etc) or should I change my strategy?
What would you do different?
(P.S) I had a link within one of my blog posts, that did a php redirect to the advertisers LP. Maybe that is what is fucking me up?
