Pretty good topic if you ask me. Lots of smart folks on this board, would be useful to read their thoughts and opinions about the business.
Ah yes, it'd be just great if everyone shared every little detail of what they've done over the last few years, and spoonfed the people who can't be bothered to get off their asses and learn things themselves.
"Lots of smart folks on this board" have put a ton of info out there that is easily accessible with some searching and reading through the board.
People making posts like these are people that are too lazy to peruse it and come to their own conclusions and make their own attempts at making a success of themsleves.
They're looking for a "magic answer" of something they can do that'll make them rich or whatever else.
There isn't one.
The answer is probably 20% reading and learning, 80% doing. If not more doing.
Mituozo, I have worked and continue working. I guess what I asking is what is the next evolution. It used to be "Start a website and put some content on it, spend a little cash on it to get it to the top and bank with Adsense" Adsense used to pay a lot more. Then it was, "Pick an affiliate and use Adwords and other quick means to get to the top to make some cash". That really doesn't work so well anymore and is not paying out that much when you do reach the top.
So if one new way to make cash is to pump and dump, what am I pumping?

If there are any other long term strategies or ideas I am just trying to figure those out.
By the way, I have worked hard for 11 years and that is how I have my job. I want to build a business though and not just have a job. I am sure those on this forum can relate.
What you've explained at the top of your post is not working sensibly. You may have been working hard, but you were doing it on autopilot without thinking.
When you were running that website, why didn't you look at what the adsense guys were promoting on your site? By definition they must be making money on those ads - so why not attempt to sell directly what they sold?
It's not rocket science.
You pick a niche, you build a product yourself or find a product to generate leads to. You expose the right people to that product.
That's all you have to do. There's millions of ways to do it. If you don't have money, it takes a ton of work to reach scale / money - you have to get up in the morning and do all the shit that the other millions of affiliate marketers out there won't do.
You have to spend all day hand crafting boring emails to webmasters about their amazing dog snuggie websites, trying to get them to drop you a link or a mention in their email campaign.
You have to spend hours and hours on end researching tweet material and good links to share with your followers or facebook fans.
You have to spend hours writing good quality engaging content which converts a person interested in a product into a sale.
You have to spend hours and hours doing countless other mundane shit too, but in the end that's what separates the people who make a success of themselves and the millions of eFailures.
Everything that you need to know is out there in this forum, the rest of it comes down to
you, and your ability to think a bit and put in the hours.
