How To Sell Out Without Ruining Your Reputation

The time has come my friends to sellout. Yes, I know I’ve said many times I would never do so, but sometimes you get offers sent to you that are just too good to turn down. Since the creation of my blog I’ve been getting offers to allow advertising on here from many different sources, and until now, I’ve turned every single one of them down. Why? Because as much as I love making money, I always saw it as a tacky thing to do, to put ads on a site when I didn’t like or approve of the advertiser. So why will I be accepting ads on my blog now? Well, simply put, from my research on forecasts and projections (not the weather), I stand to make about $150,000 from December 2006 - December 2007 from ads on my blog. Sorry, but there’s just no way I’m going to turn that down.

why is your username not Jon

because he sold out remember?
that means he can no longer go by Jon.

FYI jon, putting ads on a free seo blog doesn't qualify as selling out. I doubt a single person will bitch or see a problem with it. Me on the other hand, I'll make sure to tell everyone i know NOT to go to your blog because your blog has ads on it and ads are offensive to me. I had a bad experience so don't ask....okay I'll tell you. My mother was killed by an advertisement. Giant billboard crushed her while she was petting a lost puppy and feeding an orphan.

I could give two shits less, more power to him if he can make an extra six figures a year by running ads on his blog.

Do you have any sites that you dont monetize? Youd have to be a crack head not to monetize a blog like that!

infact go ahead and put some adsense on the header or footer of wickedfire. As long as you don't do anything annoying like fly in ads I'd go and make a click every day or two just to help ya out with the bills.

When I see Jon on TV at 3 am pitching Adsense Arbitrage Wealth then I will decide he has sold out.

Wow, someone posting my own shit on my own forum? Haha..

Actually, I would love to get some feedback on my decision to allow ads on both my blog and on WickedFire itself.

I'm not going to use adsense on my blog or on here. That's just too tacky for me.

I will however be making adsense profit sharing ads around here for the members to put their codes into it so they can generate some extra funds for threads they create or participate in.

That is fuckin brilliant!

no thanks, revealing pub ids and having noobs click on the ads for banning purposes is not worth it for pennies :repuke:

no offense though, adsense on a webmaster forum? thats the most retardest shit. everyone here knows what the ads are and the only one will click will click to benefit the members and the forum - draining the advertiser's budget. even deliguy said he would do that.

no thanks ,rofl

i don't see a problem with ads. people are using this service so you should be making money off it. same with the blog. you give away free advice, you should also be turning a profit.

I'm not against it in anyway. But I can't say I completely believe the figures you mentioned.

$12,500 per month to advertise on a blog with only 148 readers listed on feedburner.

Eh, that's just my opinion though...

yeah lol. unless its a penis enlargement company that pays $50k per sale, then maybe chrislingie, Drusam, and Jon signing up will make that ammount.

who knows.

EDIT!!! i dont think they will credit Jon for buying through his own affiliate links.

oh btw Jon are you gonn ahave the new blog on j0n.org or did you not really buy that domain?
