How was your first campaign?

Im runing my first campaign right now, im too lazy to set up a page and have directing straight into the merchant from clickbank. I spent 15 bucks today on adwords and profited 35 bucks from one conversion. I plan on spending more and more a day on advertisement and see how it works out. If you dont have the funds dont experiement with something that could loose you money like RIO mentions above.

Thanks guys.
During the past few days I was playing/learning with AP notworks with fake IDs.
Now I've decided to create a real ones to start with.
So please provide your links and make $$$$.

first come first served!

PS: I don't have a website so far, do I enter a fake one (in CJ for example)

You'll probably lose money (but youll gain knowledge). If your not ok with that, your probably in the wrong industry.

Instantly profitable. "Lucked" out with my first two campaigns, started witha bunch of adcenter coupons and was able to make a nice profit and used that to get things really started. Overall I never put a single $ of my own money into this business, everything goes back to those $2000 with MSN :)

I broken even and quite. I was promoting a ebook instruction manual on how to create your own cheap large screen "TV" for less than $70.

I decided Adsense was easier. Fast forward few years and I'm going to do it full time now.

By the way, do you guys recommend Adsense (content targeting),

I came across an article not recommending Adsense, because some websites ask their visitors to support them by clicking on ads.

You are scaring me now
Sorry, the point wasn't to scare you. Basically, what I'm saying is, don't dump money into a saturated/competitive niches (web hosting for one). These niches requires huge budgets, high bids and market knowledge.

Instead go into less crowded niches with low bids. Use Google keyword tool to determines roughly how much bids are going to be. Anything above $1.50 is probably too much for a newbie.

Don't start a campaign until you have studied the niche.

Don't run the obvious keywords. Instead think of keywords that are indirectly related to the product.

Okok if the punters click on your ads because they want to do the site owner a favor, how likely are they going to be interested in the offer you are promoting? That is dangerously close to the worst advice I've ever heard.

Listen, I don't have a link in my sig yet, but I can honestly say from experience, that ppc-coach.com is totally worth the money. Really, ever if you only stay there a month, it should protect you from falling for crap logic like that.

That is not to say that you shouldn't use the content network. You can make serious bank through content network ads. Just not for the reason that jerkwad told you.

One of the first campaigns I ran I only sent like 40 clicks and like 20% converted on a 5 dollar payout but the payout was in euros and was converted and not added to your account for a week or two. I tested with just 40 clicks since I was a newbie but after the week or so and I finally saw the converts I then sent 500 clicks to the offer from the same traffic source and 2 weeks later NONE of them converted (The Network never sent me any converts for those 500).

I contacted my AM who told me that "I looked at the numbers and did not see anything that suggests tracking problems. Numbers are consistent since it went live" and that it was not their problem or the offers problem and that none of my 500 clicks converts.

Needless to say I won't touch that offer or anything from that publisher again.

Never mind -- misread the post.

my first campaign was rough. i didn't know much but had a good Aff Manager who actually coached me on the basics of ppc. I spent the first 30 days losing about $50 a day, almost quit and then someone said something to me on the 202 forum.

Me: should I ditch this campaign? I've lost $400...
Them: Most of the time the problem is not the campaign, it's the affiliate.

that pissed me off enough to REALLY dig in and make it work. the next month, things took off and now we makin' arab money.

stick with it. stick with it. stick with it.

I launched my first PPC campaign this week. I have been doing affiliate marketing via SEO for 2+ years though. What a boring/tedious way to make money.
Day 1: I lost money. -58% ROI.
Day 2: I made money. 259% ROI. Made back all my money and then some.
Day 3: 189% ROI. Yeah yeah. Things are looking decent.
Day 4: Traffic stopped. Made no money. :(
Day 5: I killed the campaign based on gut feel that it cannot be scaled anymore.

I did not spend a single $$$ of my own money to start this business. If any of you newbs need help, feel free to PM me.

Totally agree. Don't be surprised if your first few are not that good. Just keep going and don'g give up
