Hydra STIFFING me

Just got a call from my Hydra rep - they're not paying me almost $4k.

The main issue: $3.5K of that comes from an advertiser who hasn't paid their bill to Hydra. So in turn, Hydra is telling me they won't pay me or other affiliates.

*THE NONPAYMENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY TRAFFIC, QUALITY, OR OTHERWISE.

THIS IS BULLSH-T. AVOID HYDRA AT ALL COSTS.

Why were you running with them after all the bad rep they received here? I stopped running with them when a few people here didn't get paid.

@bizkiller not looking for drama. Too much of this shit is going around. This is not a rebill issue....

@conjamuk they have unique offers

Since I posted, I have spoken to Mason and apparently Hydra will try to collect what they are owed from the advertiser in question. *If* they collect, I'll get paid.

In the meantime, be wary of "satellite" offers ....

There are only 2 primary things I look for in a network - pays on time, and will pay even if an advertiser fucks them over as long as the publisher was totally compliant. Sorry to hear about this man, this is one of every affiliates' worst nightmares.

@dubbyah - I look for those things as well. Hydra was a respectable network. For QUITE some time they were paying affs even when they were not paid. I guess this practice has stopped. In fairness to Hydra, there's a lot of "big" networks not eating the bill anymore.

Networks handle the risk management of the credit extended to advertisers. Prepays, payment terms, etc that's all the networks job. Somehow, this is breaking down more and more. :-(

Hydra use to pay me even when they got fucked (dec 09 and earlier), but I quit running with them and my current network will pay me even if they get fucked provided my traffic is compliant.

I did speak to the OP by phone previous to any knowledge of this thread and said we would pay but it would be delayed... even though the advertiser went out of business and didn't pay us.

Would be nice if people refrained from flaming until they had exhausted conventional measures.

Delayed? Nowadays it seems that A LOT of networks think that delayed payments are alright, and definitely workable for the affiliate. Can I, as an affiliate delay my payment to Facebook, Yahoo or TrafficVance? Fuck no. Guess what, hearing more and more about networks delaying payments makes me want to spread my traffic for each offer across a dozen networks, just so I don't stiff my cash flow in situations like this.

Based on what's happening, the OP seemed to have generated completely compliant leads. Your contract between the affiliate and Hydra is for YOU to him on compliant leads. Your contract between the advertiser and Hydra is for the Advertiser to pay for compliant leads. We should give jack shit if the advertiser hasn't paid you yet, because we have no contract whatsoever with them, but with you.

Yes you have a contract with us and the terms are outlined in the Terms & Conditions... which clearly state that if the advertiser doesn't pay the network, the network doesn't have to pay the publisher. We usually do pay anyway which is why you may be confused.

"Hey guys, we can still decide to fuck you, because you agreed to it in our terms and all, but it usually doesn't happen, so don't worry bout it."

Glad I've never ran traffic through y'all.

no one would use affiliate networks if affs actually read their t&c's

exactlly thats bullshit. I am waiting on a network for the same reason as above. waiting patiently before I do something drastic (like fly to them) ha

Stupid. What's the point of a fucking network if they are going pull that bullshit?

You could just work straight with the advertiser and get higher margins.
