please don't take this as a spam or whatever. I'm just wanting to show off my new site and get some real suggestions.

Im concerned about the forums in the first category. Anyone have better names and/or suggestions for better descriptions?

Also any advice on running a vB or any features I could add would be greatly appriciated.

it looks kind of empty, keep all the location categories together until there's enough posts to split them up.

Should be some interesting stories there after a while, good luck with the site.
 
yeah a friend of mine said that the little ghost guy seemed kiddish, really think I should lose it?

I would try goth and emo communities but those kids take things too far and "try" to see whatevers not there. Ive posted on a few paranormal groups in myspace. maybe things will pick up.
 
very cool guys, thanks for your opinions and as always more are welcome. I'm going to start working on a new logo now.

How's the design? It's a freebie but I think it's very good and sorta suits the idea of the site. I like that it's plain and loads pretty fast too
 
hah wow it has nothing to do with halloween. do you not realize the number of paranormal believers out there? There are multi-paranormal groups on myspace, for instance, with 10,000+ members. Ghost Hunters, the show, is on their 3rd successful season. Most Haunted is like on their 8th season. Medium, Ghost Whisperer, Supernatural (while all being fictional) has created a new cult following in the paranormal and raised interest in such things even more. lol

all this along with my own interest are why I made the forum site hehe
 
Actually, when I first saw it I had "Halloween" in my mind. I even started writing naming suggestions based on Halloween before I realized my error.

So yes, I basically think you need another theme.

More "serious" for the believers. Either a white/blue neutral one for the believing crowd (nothing says "we do serious sience stuff" like white) or a dark one for the goths.

i always thought xbox360 themes, with the bright green, reminded me of an alien theme. try something similar. maybe the header could include these glowing, yellow, awkwardly piercing eyes. i think that would be really cool.
 
I thought para-normal was the politically correct term for parapalegics.

can you tell me where you got that script, and what you use to run it? I'm a noob when it comes to that stuff- was thinking about getting vbulletin, but if there's somthing free out there that doesn't require me to be an expert that would be great!
