After watching an onslaught of idiotic facebook updates from the people I am friends with, I reasoned that I must in fact be an idiot.

TIL I am a moron.

It's going to be a rough few days as I cope.

I had the same realization almost a year ago, I just couldn't stand all the retarded stuff 90% of the people I was friends with posted on a daily basis. So I decided to remove most of the people I was friends with and started using it only for business, educational and informational purposes. The few first days have been hard, now I couldn't have it any other way.
 
Use the Unsubscribe and Unlike button people. No need to delete your Facebook because of a few idiots. I'm sure there are some valuable friends in there you'd like to keep in touch with, especially if you (or they) move abroad.
 
I don't think I could ever lead a society because I would never be smarter than the people I would prefer to surround myself with and I wouldn't be able to tolerate the level of moron that my followers would have to possess.

Anyway, can't delete Facebook. I value community presence too much and my ego gets off on "sharing knowledge".
 
I started free writing yesterday after I read this.

Today's 750words was all about how I despise 99.99% of what is said by the people I see on a day-to-day basis. It's uniformed gossip, and it drives me nuts.

Almost everything that is said is noise. It's a symptom of the unproductive.

I guess my point is that you're not alone.
