no he doesn't get a new one every year, and this is a known fact. He owns a Cadillac DTS he bought to support GM, and before that had a 2001 Lincoln Towncar that he auctioned off for charity.
Nothing wrong with that, I still drive my 2001 Lincoln LS and the wifey rocks an Explorer. I've never been able to wrap my head around losing $10k when I drive off the lot. Probably going to upgrade soon though...to another used car.

When I first moved to Philly I had a Dodge Ram that was broken into 3 times in a month and, finally, had the tailgate stolen off the back midday while I was out at work.
When I decided to buy my next car, I just went with a used Sentra. People around here park by braille and I've been rear-ended by a convicted drunk driver (who was drunk at the time). 90% of the time I just ride my bike or take mass transit anyway. When it comes time to sell, I'll lose maybe 1 or 2 grand on the resale? But the car will have cost me about 20% of what it cost to have even a simple American truck repaired over the course of it's life.

I normally try to buy a ~2 year old car when I get something new. Let someone else take the "drive out of the dealership" hit. You still get 90% of the quality of the car for around 50% of the price if you find a good enough deal.

Yeah, I never had a car in the six years I lived in Philly. If I did, I would have bought a total POS for the above mentioned reasons. I have to admit that I loved my SEPTA Trailpass.

I managed to get about $400 in parking tickets in two days in Philly. Fucking hate that city. Love the Cheese Steak though.
My first day here interviewing for a job I got $185 worth of parking tickets in 2 hours time. My plates were expired /out of state and, as I hadn't been back in the state yet (and wasn't sure yet I'd be living in Philly without a job) I didn't have an address to switch them to yet.
Yeah I'm pretty much done with Philly. Another year or two and I'm out.

No but i've run into the house garage door, run over the grass and run into my husbands car next to me at various times trying to get in and out of the garage.

Everyone who's into cars knows that you don't buy a car as an investment… you buy it for the sheer fucking thrill of the V8 engine, hand stitched leather or carbon fiber body! It doesn't matter if your Ferrari does 12 mpg and it's depreciating every time you drive it! It's a fucking Ferrari for god sake!
