I just downloaded it, my old computer kicked the bucket and I bought a new one, so with all my CDs in Australia I thought "fuck it" and just downloaded CS4.

Where the hell did table layout mode go??

According to Adobe, they took it out so that people would learn to actually make tables themselves or some gay shit like that.

The reason I use Dreamweaver in the first place is so that I can make the outline of the site I want and then code things in later. Don't fucking make your program shittier so people will learn to do it themselves. WTF is the point??

Ugh. :angryfire:

VIEW > Visual Aids

if you want to display table borders. (But I know you want to stick with CSS and <DIV> tags, right?)

Thanks!

I like being able to click a button that lets me click and drag tables to the size I want them to be.

I don't use any CSS at all for my basic landing pages. For more complicated ones I do, since I actually do prefer using CSS over HTML, but I find it just so much faster to whip up a one-page thing with HTML.

Unfortunately, I don't really use dreamweaver for CSS so I don't know how it works, and so I think either way I'm going to have to learn something new or wait for CS3 to download.

Haven't switched yet, probably won't. Still on CS3. Although I saw someone using Photoshop CS4, and when they zoomed in, you could see the pixel outlines. That's pretty sweet if you're doing detailed stuff. I also liked the movement controls when using the space bar + mouse drag, a little more fluid than CS3.

I currently use CS3 and prefer it over CS4... The new one is just too annoying to use if you are used to CS3

Got CS4...liking it so far, especially Photoshop, makes things a lot easier. I can't code worth shit so i'm taking an intermediate xhtml/css class...just seems like the transparent gifs to get the tables the right size are a pain in the ass...those are the times i want to cheat and use DW...but i won't learn shit that way i guess...

I still on Dreamweaver 6, but it is still perfect for what i do. I never use layout mode/design view so that doesn't bother me.

I've tried DW CS4 and it's actually not that different so barely worth the upgrade.

wow never noticed it wasn't there...I just use code view and been using it since release.

I use CS3 and it's a resource hog from hell. My pc is no slow beast, but for some reason CS3 likes to hog up my cpu to 100% when it and everything else sits idle. A quick search revealed that lots of people are seeing the same issue and that CS4 still has some of the same.

Is anyone here using cs4 for the mac
is it much different than cs3 for mac?

Not a ton. The one thing I prefer about the PC version is it's one window and you don't drag everything where you want it. I know that the Mac layout is much more flexible, but I don't like it. I still have CS3 on the PC, upgraded to CS4 on the Mac.
