I was cleaning out some old files, and came across some of my first campaigns, ideas, etc. I basically got started with:

1. Perry Marshall's PPC course
2. Aaron Wall's SEO Book
3. affiliate-marketing-forums 5staraffiliateprograms com
4. Reading shoe money religiously (I wanted my ringtone money and adsense checks! )

and the landing pages - well, lets say I squirmed a little when I looked at them. Only so much you can do with Frontpage and no knowledge of css, php, or HOW TO HIRE A GOOD DESIGNER!

Anyone have some Getting started memories they want to share?

When I started it was 1997, and there was not any goodies available like today. I was, and still am, primarily adult.

I did not know HTML, or anything. I had to sell teach myself everything. I did static sites, which were a NIGHTMARE!!! I started with celebrity sites. A few years later, I want to say around 2000, some of the resource sites started becoming available.

Before I knew what affiliate marketing was I tried SiteSell.

When I actually knew what affiliate marketing was I tried ringtones on search engines because Uber blogged about it so much.

Neither one worked out at all.

that was a memory jogger! I had foregotten about Cory and his auto ebook , and then following up with that with his internet marketing course.

He may have been the original internet guru...

Cory Rudl book, FTW
Some Frontpage 97 and clip art, and I was off to the races.

informative blog pushing acai + colon on adwords search quite a while ago. first $200 day. was hard to maintain

cleaning out my computer and finding Google Cash. I got hustled when I was 16 or 17!

Somehow ended up at a seminar with Mike Filsaime, Morin, McFall and co talking about writing ebooks and marketing them via Clickbank.

Didn't bother paying $5000 for their stupid courses, went home and joined ClickBank and started running campaigns on Adwords myself instead - figured the $1000 I lost that way taught me a lot more than giving that cash to those clowns.

Then got Perry Marshall ebooks and learn how to run campaigns properly.

Then joined PPC Coach and a started running poll sites for email submits.

Profit.

Tons of datafeed sites with paper-thin dupe content, all cross-linked backwards and forwards. Ballin up til Florida update (circa '03).
