How can a newbie best use their affiliate manager? Are affiliate managers okay with helping newbies make money or do they only want to deal with vets? I know you can only speak for your company..so give me the copeac perspective on this...

Mike, for newbies on the board, what products do you suggest they start with. In other words, what's the easiest product(s) to convert to $ right now on Copeac.

Ill be honest some AM's get what affiliates do and most just don't get it. They pimp out offers but don't understand what an affiliate goes through, especially a newb. You should build a relationship with your AM, learn together if thats what it takes. But if you need ideas and your Am isnt helping you (only at copeac) then feel free to IM me and i will give you some ideas.

I try to dish out ideas to the AM team that they can then give to their affiliates but sometimes they get busy and dont give the attention newbs need, that is why i try to stay as active as possible so i can help people out. Also the AM's at Copeac are overloaded, we just hired another 4 people to become AM's which will bring the team to 9 AM's within the month, and once we move in to our new office we plan to hire another 5-8 people to train for the AM role, as part of our training we show them what affiliates do and how they make money, the director of our publishing group shows the new recruits the ins and outs of affiliate marketing so they are better equipped to deal with affiliates.

So in short, your AM's should help you make money, not just email you when an offer goes down, or call you all day to do more business with them. They should provide real ideas that will make money. the relationship between affiliates and AM's needs to be that of a partnership.

If anyone is not getting this type of service at Copeac, please tell me ASAP so i can correct anything that needs correcting. We try our hardest to be the best out there so if we arent let me know so we can work harder at it :)

Anything with brand awareness, but nothing is easy. Its all hard work, we are successful in two of the most competitive niches... ringtones, and dating. We only started these campaigns within the past 10 months.

What would be the best type of offer to start off with to "learn the ropes" as far as PPC and AM go? Zip Submits? etc. ;)

Read the response to the poster above you, if its not enough feel free to post again or PM me.

What is the average commission % that an AM makes from each affiliate under them?

I'm going to decline answering this question as its not relevant to AM and disclosing earnings is not proper etiquette regardless of its an AM or affiliate.

I believe you can find a report called affstat? that will tell you what AM's make. It can be lucrative for knowledgeable AM';s

Is copeac pursuing mobile aside from ringtones...Are there any iphone offers coming besides free iphone I mean stuff that's being build around the iphone niche..skins, apps, etc...Do you see mobile taking off? Is google really a threat from your perspective?

I got one more.... as an affiliate monster, what do you predict being the next in mobile services after ringtones? video? porn? screen savers?

Fair enough. Just to clarify, I wasn't looking for specific salary numbers but rather what percentage of an affiliates revenue goes to them. ex., 1%-5%

Hey Mike,

I have an old dating blog that gets over 1k uniques per day. I haven’t done anything to it for over a year because of other projects, but I'm considering revamping the site. So, my question is: what are your top-three performing dating offers?

Nothing ever goes away, new services and products come around all the time, ringtones is just another service it goes through a boom when little is known but slowly dwindles down to normal levels. If you want find out who is going to be willing to spend the most out there? Read press releases specifically focused on companies announcing rounds of financing typically the big offers on the net have large investments put aside for advertising to grow a client base

To be honest i am not sure. We have a few offers for dating coming live in the next few days that will be really good, ask your AM's what offers are doing best and look out for emails about new dating offers going live soon.

Why hasn't Copeac approved me yet? I applied 3 weeks ago and nobody has gotten back to me. The domain I'm applying for is in the siggie. I'm already affiliated with CJ, Specific Media and other money junkie networks.
