Jeff, thank you. I could use a little more info about it, like what are its benifits and why are there invites needed?
Google decided to go invite only while it was in Beta I believe.
As for benefits:
1. Incredible amount of space 2779 MB is what its up to I believe.
2. Search function that actually works pretty well.
3. Very clean design
4. Decent spam blockers...meh
5. I never have to delete anything!
Im sure there are other benefits that I can't think of

Well you get of 2.5 gigs of space (way more than any other provider) so you never have to delete any of your mail..
the spam filter is better than any other service l've ever used online.
you get a great email search engine, to find those older messages.
why do you need an invite?
Well because gmail is still in beta testing, and you can only get an account if an existing member sends you an invite.

Tons of my friends were skeptical about switching but I've never heard anyone complain about Gmail...
IMO it's an absolutely fantastic service... Gotta love the built in address book, saving 10meg drafts, all the whatnots you could expect.. If anyone wants a invite im me (i have multiple accounts
) w/ your email and I'll send you out one.

It all sounds great, but I have to admit, the spam filter is the biggest draw. Thank you for the explanations....love you guys!
been using gmail for a while now and cant stand any other email service now, its by far the best IMHO
