So I've been working too much lately and thinking 24/7 about business can start frying your brains if you do it uninterrupted for long enough.

I decided I need a hobby and considering there's a Wacom Intuos 4 at home (that I never used) I figured what the heck let's try learn drawing. Thought someone'd find it interesting to see the whole process, so here it goes...

My first try was a moon to kinda get a feeling for the pen and to actually draw something from 0 to completion without filters or overlaying anything.

After this my bro mentioned I should try creating the Enterprise ship Picard has in his ready room. OK, challenge accepted.

Here's the original from the series:

I worked for 6 days probably 5-8 hours a day and learned as I progressed to get to something I'm kinda happy with. I also got tired of it on 5th day so it was really tough to do the finish today but I wanted to complete it and move to another drawing.

So I took screenshots every so often and here's the process from start to finish:

Not sure if trolling or just extremely talented.jpg

Hah thanks! I played with it about a year ago for like 5 minutes and I initially thought it's not really user friendly. But it truly is an amazing tool now that I used it for the past week.

Also I don't think one needs any kind of special talent to look at a picture and draw pretty much the same thing. I always thought I can't draw shit but I see now it's mostly about taking time to learn nuances and it kinda goes well then.

Awesome, now it's time to step up..

Pretty cool , Would love to learn to draw on a tablet using photoshop :D

Just start man I learned this from scratch and there's also a ton of tutorials dedicated just to drawing in photoshop. I'll start watching those once I get the fundamentals down.

Awesome, now it's time to step up..

Holy fuk that's out of this world amazing. $1500 also doesn't seem too much for this kind of toy

Lol man where did you find this :D

nicely done :)

Thanks bro

DUDE!! That is awesome. Really beautiful. Looks better than the original.

I'm a huge Trek fan, I'm assuming you are as well?

Any way I can get some vector image or something of that so I can blow it up and have it printed and framed? (serious) I guess you should sign it first. Let me know!

Wow really? This means a lot to me man

I don't have a vector image and I used a relatively small resolution of 1600x900 so I don't know how big of a print could you do without getting pixelation. I'll do some final touches tomorrow and I'll PM you a link to full sized image so you can see if you can use it.

Yea I enjoy all sci-fi and am a fan of the star trek series + the last movie kicked ass. Also, Picard is a boss.

I did something similar. I found old guitar of my father 2 days ago and spent 1 hour every day since learning how to play it.

Here is my attempt

Unfortunately unlike you I don't have any talent so I gave up.

Wish you success with your hobby.

Yea bro, please PM me a link. At that resolution it would make a sweet desktop wallpaper at least!
