Those folks have every right to be angry. I'll bet some of them did spend serious time building their sites, without ever realizing that something like that could happen with a free host.
These are the people we are marketing to, oh joy of joys. I just feel so elite reading that.
This is nothing to be laughing about. I feel so sorry for them.. At least you all try to think of how hard to build your first html page, when you was a noob....
Anyway, it's not like us who use internet for living, right? they ain't gonna lose their income stream or anything, are they?

If the site was that important to them they should have at least ponied up the $2.95 for their own shared host

And you never put income earning sites on free hosts. Even as internet noobs, those of them running sites that make money should at least of had the common sense of doing some research on setting up an online business - which would of led them to the fact that free hosting is unreliable and also to make regular backups.
As for those who were just using it for personal shit... SOL. They had 2 months notice as well and it should be common sense to back shit up regularly anyways.

I don't really feel that sorry for them. They had two months to get it done, they didn't... all aboard the fail boat. Anyone with any serious vested interest in their website is checking on it more often than once every 2 months.

It can't be helped. I believed some of them don't even know that such options as paid hosting exists. And even if they do, they prob dont' realize what's the benefits of the paid ones.
"It's free after all", that's how non-tech savvy ppl rolling....
After these kinds of experiences, things they've learned would be something like "Nothing safe online, avoid it at all cost"
