WHAT A SHAMBLES & A POOR SHOW. NO ONE WANTS TO KNOW EITHER. FORTUNATELY I SAVED MY WEBPAGE & TRANSFERRED IT TO GEOCITIES.
Things like this is why I left AOL, they think they own your internet expereince!
These are the people we are marketing to, oh joy of joys. I just feel so elite reading that.I SUGGEST YOU PUT THE HOME PAGE BACK OR YOU WILL LOOSE A LOT OF CUSTOMERS.
I WILL SEE TO THAT.
They had 2 months notice to backup and move.
Attention AOL Hometown Users -- United States - People Connection Blog: AIM Community Network
As for those who were just using it for personal shit... SOL. They had 2 months notice as well and it should be common sense to back shit up regularly anyways.
If the site was that important to them they should have at least ponied up the $2.95 for their own shared host
I don't really feel that sorry for them. They had two months to get it done, they didn't... all aboard the fail boat. Anyone with any serious vested interest in their website is checking on it more often than once every 2 months.
Anyone with half a brain will learn from the experience and won't (in theory) ever let it happen to themselves again.

Real easy to do a simple webpage. With more time I think this could be better than aol.
After these kinds of experiences, things they've learned would be something like "Nothing safe online, avoid it at all cost"
Sad, but yet no mention of how long it took to builD.WHERE IS THE HOME PAGE IT TOOK MONTHS FOR ME TO BILL
This is very frustrating and angishly wrong for AOL not to at least had the decency to emailed their hometown members of this closing of "hometown.aol.com.html" so we could have been MORE AWARE of this closing. If anyone starts a liable law suit on AOL for this outrage action, please put my name down as a victim of this hanious action taking AOL members. Faye Nall efnall@aol.com
