Have you ever thought about why these people are in need? We live in a nation where if you really try, you can get a job. It's not gonna be a fucking six-figure job, but hell, you can work at McDonalds, Subway, ANYWHERE. Who are these people in 'need'? Sluts who got knocked up? Homeless alcoholics? Bums who are too lazy to look for work?
Has anyone ever thought about who these nameless, faceless people in 'need' are? And why is it so hard for them to get a job, ANY job? Why do those of us who DO work have to give them our money?
My mother used food stamps and other programs after she got divorced to support her two children (I was one of them) while getting her nursing degree. It was a temporary thing and she did what she had to do to support her family. She went on to work 20+ years in healthcare and is now retired.
So there you go, I am a direct product of the "system". I have a 6-figure job, put myself through school, family, etc, etc . . .
Would I have turned out differently without those programs? Dunno, but it's not much of a stretch to justify stealing when you are hungry all the time.
