What have you read that leads you to think Al Gore isn't pushing gov't to raise taxes and regulate the hell outta this issue?

Enviromentalists have altered the public perception of the term: "Global Warming" --- yes, the globe is warming, plenty of proof of that. But... there is no definitive proof that the cause is human.

The biggest argument for human caused global warming is that carbon readings have always been high during warmer periods in Earth's history. But... does warming cause the carbon to rise or vice versa? No proof either way. Most scientists think we are causing it. BUT - most scientists have been very wrong over many many issues before. Consensus doesn't make it correct.

First off, hey assholes, Global Warming is NOT A FUCKING POLITICAL ISSUE. All of you Gore-haters need to stop drinking the kool-aid. You can say all you want about him and come up with some excuse as to why he must have done it or is doing it. Trust me people, Al Gore does not need money. He was one of the original investors in Google. (And he invented the internets, remember? duh). He's a man on a mission. And he deserves to be acknowledged for that.

You can debate Global Warming all you want. But leave the politics out of it. If you really want to "follow the money", then follow any and every study that claims global warming (aka Climate Change) is not real. They are all funded by people with specific interests. There are almost ZERO credible, non-profit, scientificly sound studies that have concluded global warming is not real.

Are they? Not me.
But I do agree with overwhelming scientific hard evidence coming from all over the world (not just Al Gore). For one - just the fact that there has been a radically steep and rapidly increasing rate of CO2 the past 100 years SEVERAL times greater than it ever has in the past 600,000 years (which IS measurable through arctic ice samples) - that alone proves that something is not right and that humans are causing it.

No, but it’s used as a political-football. Where parasitical politicians use high-sounding rhetoric in order bolster their popularity and other personal agenda too!

The real argument is not whether global warming is occurring, but the underlying cause: man, nature or both! And I doubt it’s as clear-cut as the parasites (politicians) make out! Personally, I think it’s a combination of both: natural events and man’s pollution (leaning more on the side of natural events). However, some of the eventual doomsday predictions I’ve read are absolutely ludicrous: weather forecasters can not predict the weather in a month’s time, let alone the effects, if any, of global warming in 20, 50, 80, 100 years! Its dishonest politicians and certain news media, not necessary the scientists, who are really clouding the issue!

The majority of today’s politicians are like yesterday's tyrants, but in sheep’s clothing: subtlety playing with people’s lives and hindering life-enhancing research for personal gain and ego! Who would voluntary pay for the services (whatever they are) of a politician?
