That is why you use a shotgun for home defense. Lots of stopping power, easier to hit your target during a high stress event, and not going to go through a couple of walls and kill a little kid.

That and the sound of a pump action in the dark does have a tendency to make people rethink their life choices.

The fact he hit the purp in the face + said they almost ran him over would mean he had a clear shot from a vehicle coming towards him. There is no reckless endangerment in that.

Ok, so this guy had the option of A - letting them run away, and just getting the money back on insurance. No one gets hurt.

Option B - Shoots them, as they're running away, posing him no danger, risking killing them.

Ok, so while no one likes burglars, can you honestly say they deserve death? O.o
 
Why the fuck would he get any sentence at all? If they're in the country illegally, they shouldn't even be protected by our laws. Not to mention that this is just fucking ridiculous. You should be able to kill someone for trying to steal from you...no matter what it is. If that's the law then they're taking their chances when deciding to steal. They know that they can get killed if they try to steal from people.
