I have this little domain that has a very weak grasp on the #1 spot on Yahoo for its primary keyword. It's been making me some decent money, so I thought I'd try to sell it for some quick cash to invest in other projects.

Long story short, I found an 'interested buyer' who asked me for my domain name, what keywords I'm ranking for, earnings reports, traffic sources, etc. Sensing a sale, I gave up all that info. Then buyer went offline.

Fuck.

Malicious intent or not, I just gave that guy everything he needs to dethrone me from my #1 spot.

Learn from my mistake.

Yeah, it's hard b/c they want proof. But you don't wanna give too much info.

When i sold old blogs in the past i just showed some earnings reports and an overall look at Google analytics traffic. Save a PDF, but don't show the details on KW, just the traffic sources and stuff.

Truth is, i wouldn't be worried. If he just got the info from you i doubt he will outrank you before you can sell. Besides, if he ever does, you'll probably figure out it's him.

Then it's time for sweet revenge...
