I'm Going To Monetize ~600 Domains. Any Advice?

I have 1 domain that gets about 50-100 typein hits a day and it makes decent $ from just having it parked @ adsense for domains.

Totals 12,093 10,497 1,596 $100.06

(total so far from July 7th 2010 - current)

Definition of Irony:

Someone asking how can they slave away more efficiently for someone else's non-charitable gain while using a username based on a fictional character that was an idealist anarchist.

Some random thoughts:

1. VPS with 10 separate ip addresses, put 60 domains on each IP
2. Randomize those wordpress themes, in my experience a good theme really minimizes the de-indexing.
3. with wp-robot, some sites get indexed, some get banned, some turn into money-makers, you gotta test it out.
4. That's a whole bunch of work you've got cut out for yourself, good thing you're doing it on somebody else's dime.

Find which domains are generating the income and focus on those first. It's likely just a handful. Those aged domains will be easiest to build out further (add content, link build) to increase SERPs and increase earnings.

I'll kick the (dead) horse here as well. 10% sucks in this case. Offer to do a JV with him outside of working hours. Here's the kicker though - he owns the domains; so if he walks, so does your money. Figure that one out, or you're screwed down the road.

It's easy to monetize the adult domains, however with non-adult ones, it will take some time

600 domains making $40 a month means he has at minimum 550 domains that can't even make reg fee.

At best you'll have 50 or so domains that pay for themselves.

IMO not even worth trying unless there is one or two domains in there making $10-$20 a month parking.

You also might think about monetizing just one domain instead of trying to work with 600. Develop 1 and put all of your effort into it. You'll make a lot more than parking domains, crap sites, etc. depending on market you're in, conversions, etc.

I think 10% is fine, considering that you are also being paid a salary at the same time. He really doesn't have to offer you any commission on top of your salary, considering you are already getting paid to do the tasks he asks for. So not sure why everyone here is going about saying that 10% is garbage.

My girlfriend works for an investment company that puts together events that are similar to the affiliate summit. She gets paid $18/hr for IT work. At the same time, she is given a possibility of earning 15% on any new participant that pays for a pass. Quite fair if you ask me.

Same as in this thread.
