I ordered on 12/6, and my order is still 'pending completion' on 12/17. I got one PM, and no other communication.

I am really suprised because this is the first time I have ever ordered from a vendor on WF and been this dissatisfied. Meanwhile I tested a couple other vendors, and they have complete multiple orders.

Order finally complete.

I got a list of 50 URLs where my comments/links were. Jon gave me an extra 10 comments. Too bad the comments are worthless.

I checked URLs 1-12.

1. nofollow
2. no link provided to blog post
3. nofollow
4. comment but no link, i see <a href='mysite.com'> in the comment
5. no comment, no blog post either
6. no link provided to blog post
7. no link provided to blog post
8. no link provided to blog post
9. nofollow
10. no comment
11. no comment
12. no link

So I haven't got one dofollow link so far.

Also, the comments on the nofollow links look like this

"well this is cool stuff"
"thank you for sharing"
etc.

I think the reason so many of the blog posts don't have a comment is because the comments made are so bad that the blog author just deletes them.

I'm not going to bother checking 13-50.

My writers will then write a quality blog comment that is at least 10 words long (but most of the time the comments are longer).

10 words long? I just checked comment #50. There's no link, and the comment says "nice info".

Then how is it that I haven't yet found one dofollow link?

Does anyone have results they'd like to share from using this service? I had purchased the "100 dofollow SEO Social Bookmarks" package a while back and shortly thereafter the site I bought the links for dropped in Google traffic by about 70%. That's a major hit for a site that was doing 12-14k uniques/day. Maybe just some bizarre coincidence, but the site still hasn't recovered. IM'd with waraas and he's pretty confident that it wasn't their fault. I guess there's really no way to know for sure one way or another. I'd love to hear feedback on anyone else's results...

I thought this service was about Blog comments ... where are you getting the social bookmarking from?

I also think it's rotten for you to even consider placing blame on anyone for a drop in UVs. Traffic ebbs and flows, to blame a service that got you a few links for this is simply not taking responsibility for your own actions. Besides, I don't even think it's possible for blog comments to hurt your site, unless it's 1000's of them all on midget pr0n & pharma sites.

The social bookmarks were purchased as one of the other packages available from developerhut.com.

I'm not really placing blame, I'm just trying to figure out the coincidental timing of it. This particular site has been around since about '05 with relatively stable organic traffic. The social bookmark purchase was the only thing done seo-wise around that time frame. I understand traffic ebbs and flows, but a 70% drop? There were quite a few terms I was ranking top 10 on, and now the site's nowhere to be found for those terms. I'm guessing some kind of keyword or page-level penalty (at the site root), as deeper pages still rank well for a hand full of terms. Still haven't quite figured it out...

Jon's a good guy and I'm not looking to bash him or his services. Like I said, it could very well be just an odd coincidence that has nothing to do with the bookmarks. I would just be interested to hear follow-ups from others who have bought comments or bookmarks to see how they've fared.

You are absolutely correct... I bear 100% responsibility for the site, which includes the decision to buy links. Ultimately, I have nothing to bitch about.

Well, that changes the game just a little bit ... I didn't even know he did social bookmarking. There are footprints involved there if done poorly. Blog comments are very natural to engines and shouldn't cause any issues if some moderation is practiced. That's where my statement was coming from anyways, but good job manning up over the whole "bought links" thing.

About your site ... you need to find out how far the drop was ... that will likely tell you if it's a slap (950 penalty) or an algorithm change? You're not de-indexed, so potentially only specific words are penalized. Was your anchor text varied? What were your total site links before and after this bookmarking thing? Does your homepage (the one that lost traffic) rank well for anything at all?

Perhaps a new thread for your issue rather than turning Jon's BST thread further away from the OP ... but reading through the replies, this might be a welcome distraction.

His site had 100k backlinks. He ordered a package of 100 social bookmarks ( I offer them through Social Bookmarking Service | SEO Bookmarks | BuyBookmarks.Net ). There is a small possibility of getting penalized because of link building. But its a very small chance. Most of the time if your site gets pentlized its because of the content on the website.

I am looking into it though. But I cant pinpoint what exactly got your site banned.

I haven't seen one positive comment in 100's of post.......still.

BTW: never got my refund. Oh well......
