lol @ comments after the black guy saying it has nothing to do with race.

"You associate blacks with crime and whites with being good"

I wonder why. I really do.

it would be interesting to see them do this in a black neighborhood where all the passers-by aren't white. split test that split test

The white dude didn't have an earring or any baggy clothing.. Probably a reason why ppl were easier on him.

They were dressed almost exactly the same. The bright red shirt was more of an attention grabber, but I doubt the way they were dressed played much of a part in this.

I wonder if the white kid would be game to try that experiment in a black neighborhood.

I feel so bad for being white. Damnit, its not like black people are more likely to commit crime. I mean sure the incarceration rate for black men is nearly 7 times that of white men, but still. Where do all these absolutely crazy stereotypes come from? I'm sure theres no rational reason.

I wrote out a long reply to this, then deleted it because I had shit to do and didn't want to get into anything with anybody.

But here's the deal: I lived in Bermuda for 6 years. It's about 50% white, 50% black give or take. Because Bermuda is so small (60,000 locals) it's very blended. There aren't really white or black neighborhoods.

People congregate and live by income, poor with poor, rich with rich, more so than race.

Over 80% of crime is from black males in Bermuda. This year, sadly, there has been over 30 shootings. All of which are by black males.

When I lived there I was in my mid-teens. I went to a school about as mixed as possible. My best friend was black, and my friends were probably 50 or 60% white and 40 or 50% black.

On Wednesday's there's this thing called "harbor night" where locals and tourists basically have a street part on Front street. I'd always stay out till 12 or 1 and party, find girls, etc.

When I was walking with my friends and a poorer looking black guy, or group of black guys, walked by us we'd all tense up. My black friends, white friends, etc. When a poorer looking white guy, same build, height, clothing, walked by us with a group of white males we weren't too bothered.

It's not racist. We just knew who was far, far, far more likely to mug us or whatever.

Just the way it was. Scooter theft was a big problem, still is, in Bermuda. You need to be a resident for three or five years before you can get a car. So not only do tourists, but most locals, have scooters.

If ANYONE saw a white guy on a scooter, trying to wire it up, no one would even notice. If a black guy was on it, trying to wire it up, everybody would stop and call the cops. Doesn't matter if the bystander is white, black, or purple.

There was actually an article in the newspaper about the fact that 100% of scooters stolen (during that year, forget which it was now) were by black males.

So yeah, if I saw a poorer looking white guy looking (but not really obvious) like he was stealing something in Bermuda I probably wouldn't even register it in my mind because so few white, Asian, and Latino people commit small crimes there. But if I saw a poorer looking black guy doing so I'd probably think he was stealing. Just the fact of it.

Be careful bro, you're gonna make all the liberals around here pretty mad.

The truth hurts, doesn't it?

You'd never catch Stevie robbing a bike.

Locked my keys in my car while at a strip club once, didn't notice until near the end of the night. So I'm in the parking lot trying to break into my own car, and not only did the few people that drove by not get involved, one actually stopped and was like "Hey not to get into your game but there's a cop right there eh?" I'm like "Cool thanks for the heads up man!" and they kept driving...

I'm a white dude, dress lax/a bit baggy, and this was when I was in my early 20's. Not sure the scene would have played out the same way if I was not white, even though Toronto is the most multicultural city in the world. Got into my car a good 20 min later, not a bother from anyone.
