7 Dollar booklets in e-book format has been doing enough of rounds in the Internet and has made several aspiring Internet marketers busy all day long. But the question is whether Content is really the King when it comes to promoting the e-books? Or is mere title, look and presentation of the booklet good enough to get the viral marketing going? I invite well informed readers of this forum to contribute to this literature. I personally will always vouch for the content and that is the only factor that would make the viral marketing going several rounds. Your views please?

"...contribute to this literature..."

Who fucking calls their eBook "literature" ???

viral traffic can be either hype driven or content driven or maybe a combination of both.

hype tends to travel faster and have a short lifespan.

content tends to take longer to penetrate the market, but the traffic is usually sustainable.

think of a copy of "People" magazine, vs an lesser-known novel that you enjoy.

That's a fuckin good point actually, not really thought about it before but yeah, I guess books or say a TV show like Lost spreads virally, and that's content driven.

There's a big difference though between a product that is so good people naturally want to tell their friends about it and convincing people to tell friends with incentives etc.
