Is it illegal to purchase an item/service through your affiliate link?

If you're an affiliate for a company and you purchase an item/service through your own affiliate link, is it illegal or do you just risk getting kicked out? In my case I'll end up profiting, so that's why I'm wondering.

If I just get kicked out it wouldn't be a problem, but I wouldn't risk it if there was any legal action that could happen.

It varies, some places don't care and even encourage it, and others are very against it. I have never heard of anyone having legal action taken against them for this, you might get booted, but I doubt it would be more than that.

In all cases, this is not illegal. However, it is sometimes forbidden.

Against "Terms of Service"? Most likely.

Its definetly not "illegal" very few things on the internet are actually "illegal" it may be against the terms of service though, in Azoogles case we have talked to them and they are usually ok with it as long as you are actually buying the product.

It depends on the network. Clickbank, for example, is ok with it as long as you don't just use your account for your own purchases.

I'd suggest making a practice of reading the agreement when you join an affiliate program.
