I have read it. It covers the basics. You can probably get most of the information for free though.

I see this sentiment all too often on forums in reference to books or e-books, and frankly, I think it's ridiculous.

Could you find a lot of that content for free online? Yes, but how long would it take you. In this instance, the Super Affiliate Handbook goes for $47.

Maybe I'm crazy, but to me, time is money and the time it would take to find that same information would cost me a lot more.

Not to mention the fact that the sources for online info can often be rather dubious.

I can say for a fact that Rosalind Gardner (author of the Super Affiliate Handbook) is the real deal. She's well known and I think her book is well worth the cost.

Well I guess you are entitled to your opinion, and as this is an open forum, you are also entitled to insult me, but I stand by what I said.

90% of what rosalind talks about can be found for free on any one of a dozen blogs. Is it quicker just to buy her book? Sure it is, but I don't presume to bequeath a certain value to people's time when I know nothing about them.

Definitely true, but for many people just starting out time is actually less valuable than money, because they have a lot of time and little money. They'd be better suited to reading message board than buying E-books.

But people taking this on as a second income? Sure, I think e-books can be valuable for completely new to the game individuals who have stable incomes from somewhere else.

I don't agree with you on this. There's plenty of crappy sites out there offering everything under the sun so I don't think that someone's opinion of a product or service is ridiculous at all. If the products good then I'm sure there will be plenty of people supporting it too.

I don't think anyone is questioning whether Rosalind is the real deal or not. And considering that most of us if any, don't know her then we're not qualified to make judgements either. What I was interested in, was has anybody read this book and do they think it's worth buying or not.

I don't doubt that Rosalind Gardner is the real deal. I do disagree with her ebook being worth anything. She covers the absolute basics of affiliate marketing, that not only is available and can be covered for free on forums and blogs, but I think when you look at those sources, you can probably get a hell of a lot more information than what she provides. Also, if I remember correctly, she wrote that book a ages ago, 5-6 years I think. Most of the stuff she wrote about is completely outdated and needs to be upgraded if she wants to win points with current affiliate marketers. Obviously, she will always continue to sell books/ebooks because for every real affiliate marketer who takes his work seriously, there are 100 newbies who are just looking for the big secret in the sky for under $50. :2twocents:

I never saw an ebook that offered anything beyond what's freely available on the web..
I might compile some free info and sell it as an ebook one day myself lol, a nice salesletter and some noob webmaster traffic will do ;)

It's not like most people made a conscious decision to get the information from free sources as opposed to that e-book.

Most us were probably unaware of the e-book when we began compiling affiliate info in our heads. Once we became aware of it, the basics were no longer of much interest.

ok, this has been interesting, since everyone says this info is online and can be gotten free then why not provide that information in a clear area that gives newbs a good resource. that would bring traffic to wickedfire. most people reading forums have to read all the bullshit posts before they find the good stuff!

I agree,

I purchased some of the ebook and it gave me a good start. Those ebook cater to the newbie market who wouldn't want to spend their time looking for free information. For the experienced or slightly experienced affiliate marketer then probably the ebook would be of little use.

so do you all also think that SEObook.com is crap? just asking cause I am about to buy it.

No it's not crap. I bought it and I thought it was well worth the money I spent and has easily made me more money than it cost.

actually i was making less than 0.08 cents before I bought the book. SEOBook ebook. The money i've made from seobook isn't from affiliate marketing. I've made money from the ebook by selling SEO services like PPC management and longer term seo.

The 0.16 is what i've made since i've been here at wicked fire.
