ermmm...that's just the affiliate program arm (performics) of the larger company DoubleClick which they acquired for 3 billy...not sure what you mean by failure, their aim is to catch up on display advertising/media buys and basically dominate any space where money changes hands for serving ads. once they do this they'll buy earth...;)

affiliate network rev is a very tiny goal for them right now...but yea they must be stopped...

See this

I am one of the many affiliates they have failed to pay. Long email chain (You can't find support # anywhere), 4 months later, still haven't paid. I gave up.

google is fucking evil period. there's no company on earth that generates as much revenue and doesn't answer to its customers. that blows you've had to deal with this BS.

I'm sure Microsoft had this title at one point. Oh, and cut them a break.. they provide unparelleled service for FREE across thousands of different websites and tools. Sure their affiliate network may suck but I think you're vastly overstating the problem.

They offer shit for free because it gives them a massive amount of control over the internet as a whole, and because they get an insane amount of information.
Don't give them social credit for business decisions.

If that's your attitude, you need to go find a safe day job where someone else has the necessary ruthlessness to earn money.

Fans can't objectively analyze. If you can't be objective, you're going to lose money.

Isn't that just normal?
Even if they do it, what's the problem with it?
If you are getting good conversions, why would you cheap out on paying Google more?
However, I don't think Google would be able to track conversions...how on earth would they??

With conversion pixels.
But it's not just about that. They give fucking keyword suggestions to competitors....and notice they're getting better at telling commercial from non commercial searches?
Doy.

Google will be using all of your conversion data to benefit themselves in the future. lol

You are right.

this can almost be called an internet law.

Rule: If Google has the Data, then Google will use it to improve their bottom line.

simple!

Google is a public company. Everything they do HAS to make money.

I am not a Google fanboy but this does not seem to be true. More than half of there projects flop or never get traction, or just fadeaway.

They require engineers to work on their own pet projects on Fridays. They throw away 20% of their engineer manhours to have them brainstorm, bullshit, and maybe produce something useful.

This of course is hopefully to benefit them but I imagine most of it is just wasted time.

I cant believe no one has mentioned high conversion coupon sites and that Google is now in that field.... How did they get the data to decide to do that?

Google is now in that field, how so?

And they wouldn't need data for that, it's common sense, anyone who would need data to realise coupon sites have high conversion rates are idiots.
