according to your hijack this log its in the correct spot and it should be a protected file while in windows, it may have gotten taken over though. You can restore the original windows version by putting in your OS cd and Click Start >> Run >> sfc /scannow. it'll take about an hour to run. It'll check all your system files and compare them to the originals then restore the altered or corrupted ones from the cd.

Guess I'll know what I'll be doing tomorrow morning. My internet is soooo much faster after I blocked that program from sending email and network utilization is back down to 0% when I'm not using my browser. Router lights not going crazy anymore either. I'll call my ISP tommorow and see if theres activity coming from my IP on their end. If not, I think zone alarm blocked it.
Zone Alarm is great so far. Beats windows firewall, hands down.

Deli's got some primo advice. For what it's worth, I generally go through my little tin foil hat routine whenever I have suspicious outbound activity.
For a start, CTRL+ALT+DEL, Igo to processes, and kill everything I don't actually reocgnise.
Next, Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Services
Sort by Startup Type. All the shit that's automatic, check it. Anything that looks suspicious, I check out what it is, especially if it's a network service, and stop it if I can't figure it out.
Next I disable, and switch to manual, anything that I can't identify.
After that, boot into safe mode and run the antivirals.

I've been running Macs since the late 80s with no antivirus and I use it to download all my shady shit and have never gotten a virus. That said, I've only had a couple in my 8 years of running Windows machines.
i had an annoying virus that i couldn't kill and nothing was helping. those guys at bleepingcomputer were the shiznit - totally clean after their help (but i did go buy a different computer during the time that we were cleaning the other - was time for an upgrade anyway).

thats not true, plenty of businesses use macs. If somebody could make a virus for it they would be famous. Sure there are holes and things but no virus action. it's an untapped market! lots of win to be had.
I really, REALLY recommend Nod32 and Agnitum Outpost Security. Combined pretty much nothing will get through from what I've seen. I've used AVG, ZoneAlarm, Avast, Panda, TrendMicro. Nod32 is a really great antivirus and Outpost is very good too. Outpost Firewall is awesome.
downloaded and installed nod32 - it identified virus, but said could not delete it. grr. kind of turned me off of it. but every other product said clean so it had that going for it.
