I added this to the EMD moan last week:

Thanks Matt

This site is a 5 month old EMD and was ranking at #12 for a long time and dropped right out of the top 100.

The content is uniquely research written by my own inhouse guy with a college degree, custom theme, unique photographs etc. so I felt it was bulletproof and was really sickened that the above atrocity happened in perfect synchronisation with Cutt's "weather report".

Anyway, the other thing was I experimented with a couple of what may have been unnatural linking practices and I felt this may have been the real cause of the above. I felt that with all the negative SEO crap I've been reading that these links poisoned the domain and that was the end of it, time to start again with a new domain.

A week later with no extra link building, here is the graph as of right now:

New goal - get this bitch to #1 in the next 6 weeks. Got this playing in the background:

tl:dr; Don't throw away those EMDs just yet

You know when they roll out updates, it shakes up the whole index and it has to calculate iterations before things get exactly where they should be? Patience is a virtue, especially when concerning the use of an AK. Today was a good day *head bob*

It may not be the EMD update, it may be one of the others for that day. I had similar results on one of my main sites (non-emd, inner page)

No links built too recently, built some earlier this month, which is what the heavy dancing back then was.

Micrositemasters views it slightly differently, but still the same basic result:

So hold on, are you guys saying that rank position can go up and down algorithmically?

Look like the Google Propaganda Machine works like a charm. They shake things up, everyone freaks out, and changes their strategies, and then put things back to normal...

DERP DERP DERP....

I don't know how you guys are building your websites, but it looks like you're building on mud. None of my sites have been hit by these Penguin, Panda, or EMD updates you guys keep coming up with. I'm starting to think you guys are full of shit, or you don't have a solid foundation for your websites... But then again, I'm the kinda of guy, that when I see Google creeping up to 40%, I start finding additional traffic sources, so overall, Google stays around 30% of my traffic.

Good luck amigos.

I just checked Microsite Masters today for a term I used to rank #1 for:

I don't know if it's just BofU's software that's gone screwy, or that Bing is trying to tell me something...?
