ITT Parent's hate me because I do Affilate Marketing Instead of a "Real" Job.

Haters gonna hate... Even if its the parents. I only had one job in my life, Kmart. I was like 17 and it lasted two weeks. I net a good 5 figures monthly now. Some of us are built for 9-5 payroll jobs, some are not. Keep busting your ass, scale up and fuck all those who oppose you.

2k per month in California is definitely not enough.

If you've only made $2k total I'd say you are not ready to ditch a 9-5.

When I made the leap (well I've never had a 9-5, but when I was completely committed to never working for anyone else event) I was already making 4 figures per day. It is not a decision you make lightly or with no real plan.

tell your parents to gtfo out of your basement and to take their peasantry elsewhere.

You gotta establish yourself as an independent person. I started buying my own shit at 14. I got a job working on the weekends making $40, bought my first $400 phone, bought an iPhone when it first came out, bitches were jealous. I did learn to value the dollar after a few stupid purchases at 14-19 years old. I cleared 37k last month sitting behind my computer. No one questions my abilities any more :)

there's a solution for every problem.

This crowd must be a little too young, because that shit was hilarious.

Didn't know you could make 37k / mo from e-whoring.

You have to understand they were brought up to get a good job with a pension , get married, have babies, than retire after working for the same company most of their lives. They see that pay check as security. No one ever taught them that creating money where none existed before is true security. Cut them some slack and don't worry about it. Do your thing and do it better than anyone else.

Anyone else deal with this? Have a site going that will pay for all my bills, etc but they don't understand the concept of making money online so they hate it... Just cleared $2K in my bank account the other night, but it doesn't matter unless it's a paper paycheck from a real desk job.

I have a 2nd "real" job doing marketing but I don't show up often since I can make more money at my home office. So they call me lazy.. But in reality, I've been doing 12 hour days working on my site/online goals. Even when I had a physical $500 paper Adsense check from years ago it wasn't a "good job" moment..

I'm an adult now, 25.. And I still get bitched out.

Your parents dont hate you because of your job. They hate you because they found videos of you sucking dick on youporn!

People will always try to hold you down, including your parents. That is part of outgrowing things. You are outgrowing your parents and they don't like it. The same thing happens when you outgrow your religion or your government. They always try to hold you down to their level. Just keep rising and don't let anyone hold you back.

I've only had one family member ever give me shit for not getting a real job. Now they work for me.

Please, somebody explain to me how this is not a real job? I have customers, vendors, and products just like any "regular business." The only difference is I don't sell my services/products in a physical location. I still have to worry about cash flow, gaining new business, making sure my customers are satisfied, and discovering new products/services to sell? If by "real job" your friends and family mean sitting at a 9-5 office job, then tell them to go fuck themselves. That's not a real job, that's being someone elses bitch.

^-grow up jeffery and realize playing on the computer isn't a real job. close that browser, that enabler it is, that has stolen your motivation from buttoning up a suit and leaving the house every day to fulfill a real job in an office cubicle, where you can do some real work........ behind a computer!

You mean other than the fact it's harder (and scarier) than a real job? We don't have a straight line from point A to B (entry level to management), and instead, we plot our own points. We don't have the security of a 3 year salary contract with a multi-billion dollar corporation, and instead build our own security.

If you drop the ball in a corporate job, you get a disciplinary meeting with your boss, but many times your boss is also your drinking buddy, so it doesn't mean fuck all. If we drop the ball, we don't eat. With a corporate job, if there's a problem you don't know the solution to, many times there's someone who can provide the solution for you. With us, we come up with the solution. If we don't, we fail, and once again, don't get to eat. In many aspects, this is a whole lot more "real" than a "real" job.

I come from a white-collar oil patch family, and although my parents fully understand that this is "real" work, my brothers and sister-in-laws still don't. Pisses me off at times.

Thanks for reaffirming the exact point I was trying to make.
