I am 17 and already making more than my parents. Work hard man, I faced similar issues when I was 14, my parents would want me to study what everybody else was studying and I would rather not do it, so far my decision has paid very well. I am still full time student of secondary school but the Business knowledge and real-world experience I got in my last 4 years puts me ahead of most of people of my age.

Why do you care what people think? ESPECIALLY YOUR PARENTS?

Do yourself a favor and go look in the mirror. Remind yourself that you have a very short amount of time on this planet and that you could get hit by a bus tomorrow.

I dropped out of college a year ago and I had been debating about whether or not to do it for 2 years LOL. FEAR and lack of confidence is all in your head so stop giving useless people the time of day and you will be much better off. The fact that you even made this thread shows that these people are taking up too much space in your head.

If you don't then you are living too close to home.

Move the FUCK AWAY from your parents. Something with a 3 hours car ride in between and establish some real adult life.

I had the same problem when I decided to go full time with IM. My wife, my parents, my wife's parents, friends, debt collectors. All had issues with me starting with IM. They thought I was doing some work from home bullshit. If I had listened to any of them I would still be working at some shit job.

The best was when the debt collector called about my school loans. I told him I was going full time with Internet Marketing. He was like "What? You mean work from home? Oh, no one ever makes money with that." I called dude back a year later and paid every single last cent off. Guy was shocked.

Point is, don't let anyone tell you what is right. Make your own decisions, and harness the negativity in order to prove others wrong.

Don't live at home, have been in an apartment/loft ever since I was 18... Bought my own car, etc. Entirely independent. Visit one family once a week, and the other once a year.. Live about thirty min away from both. Not really worth moving farther away, my location is perfect for my own lifestyle, and family is worth working on. Even if we don't get along over that one issue, not going to regret spending less time with them, when they pass away and it's too late..

As the one here with "telling them i do drug dealing"...

Its true. Of course they would hate it but they would consider it
more a "real" job as "internet and such".

So, what we do is more worse as drug dealing. Oh well.

If you are making enough, why don't you set-up a "real company" that you are a vice-president of. Not hard to do.

I label myself as Operations Manager in my company because it's easier for offline people to understand.

Your parents don't hate you, there just worried. Working for yourself is "risky" and working online is even more "risky". Your parents just want to make sure you don't end up failing horribly at life and coming back home to them. There's only one way to get rid of their fear. Make lots and lots of money.
