I just created a new facebook account and facebook page. I created the new fb account because I didn't want my friends seeing my page. None of my facebook accounts have ever been used for facebook ads and I have literally never ran a campaign on facebook.

I just created my first campaign which is a "sponsored story" ad for one of my page's posts. Uploaded a custom audience of user id's. Added a funding source. Set my max cpc and daily budget. 5 minutes later my ad is approved and my campaign is live.

5 minutes after that, I try to refresh the page and it says my account has been flagged for unusual activity. I had to fill out a "Disbaled Payments" form and attach my drivers license.

What the fuck is going on here?

My page is basically a a copy of facebook.com/viralnova and I have NEVER advertised on facebook before.

Any of you guys ever experienced anything like this?

Bump.

FUCK FUCK FUCK.

I just logged into to my real life fb account and went to ads manager. There are 4 ads there for an old ass dating campaign from like 2010 that never even ran. There isn't even a credit card attached to this account. Just a $50 coupon.

But it's obvious that facebook knows that my real life account is for the same person as my fresh fb account because when I first created the fresh account it was showing me all of my friends to add before I even gave the account any info.

Am I fucked?

If the account is in your name (like you didn't use a fake name) you should be fine. Just wait for them to respond and give them whatever they ask for. They should eventually unlock the account if everything checks out. Sometimes they will ask for more info though.

Yes the account is in my name. Also has my cell phone verified, but it is the same number as my OG fb account that I just realized has 4 old as dating ads from 2010.. that I'm pretty sure never even ran.

I sure hope you're right. Fucking A.

I have a feeling it's because the account is brand new and has no added friends and little activity attached to it. I'm hoping they will get back to me in 24 hours and clear everything.

You can create pages with your "main" FB account without your friends ever seeing them... just so you know.

Yeah see I didn't know that at first and was also paranoid about that actually being 100% true. TBH I don't trust facebook and I think their platform is a giant clusterfuck.

But thanks for the tip :banana_sml:

If they don't clear me for this fresh account I guess I can try a different CC and making my real account an admin for the fb page and try that.

Facebook needs to realize they have no adwords product to fall back on. Arrogance will kill these guys unlike it will Google

Bro you're in san diego aren't you?

I just went to the new stone brewery location last weekend. Fucking awesome.

For those of you that have advertised for facebook pages, do you guys do it for your most recent post? Individual posts? Just a link to your entire page?

Advertise base on strategy. If you're going to brand build go entire page, content on the top should be top notch. Recent post coupled with a trending topic within your niche, bank. Individual post for the timeless stuff.
