Just launched my first AdWords campaign..

i'm just doing a quick direct link to an email submit, for a $250 pizza gift card. it has been under "Pending review" on adwords for about 48 hours, is this normal?

also, for a lot of the gift card offers and what not they have "approved subject lines for this campaign"

does that mean i can only use what they say i can on the ad copy?
 


i feel stupid for asking this, because it's stupid, but...

what is to prevent me from posting the direct link on facebook and being like "hey guys i'm just testing something out real quick, just fill in your email"

is that an illegal traffic source or something?
 
yes a 48 hr review time is common, especially for a new account.

if you're trying to do an email submit on adwords i would suppose your account will be banned within the next 24 hrs.
 
Yeah, the direct linking doesn't fly with Adwords anymore. Create a landing page, or a little site for that matter, couple of pages, whatever. Make sure your landing page looks like it's part of the site, ie privacy policy, terms & conditions, contact, about us, etc. Buy a nifty domain name, something generic even so you could run several different offers using the same domain name.

The more it looks like a legitimate site with some content and a "quality user experience", the better your quality score and as a bonus you wont' get banned.

would a poll be the best landing page to do? since it's not a product i don't really have anything to promote.

Probably a good idea. This isn't a good offer to run on Adwords. Find something that you can build a page or small mini site around and promote that. You'll have far better results on Adwords and probably earn more in the long run
