So basically, I received a letter this morning from this company saying they are debt collection company and that I owe £50 to some hosting company.

I am certain that I cancelled my account months ago and normally hosting companies should suspend account right?

WTF is this? Should I just pay them or should I not worry at all?

Thanks in advance and please no "op gay" kinda shit ... thanks bros!

It is $50 fucking dollars.... Do I really need to answer your question?

"$"< "£"

Also, OP, as Jeffrey said, I won't worry. He can't sue you over £50.

Just reply him with a letter with a lot of Fuck yous or a modded version of the Groucho Marx letter.
Search for tag, ericvonsued

Tell him to go fuck himself and bill him 50 for your time wasted reading the letter.

You should consult with a lawyer.

Make certain that he has at least three specialists with him:

Civil Litigation - As Unarmed Gunman noted, you may need to file a counter suit;

Taxation - To determine any fiscal ramifications of any settlement or non-settlement; and,

Bankruptcy - To see if bankruptcy is viable protection for you. Make certain that he is up to date on the BAPCPA.

What are the odds a guy who buys hosting could have an outstanding hosting bill?

I object, I graduated last week from Wickedfire School of Law and I testify the hearing and it should be reprimanded and upholded because it violated basdlkabansdfasdfacv

Indeed. I might add, it would be profitable to first contract established, well-known practitioners in the above fields to conduct due diligence on the specialists you seek to represent you, for malpractice, while it may seem a remote possibility; is a trifling matter per chance it arises. This extra expense will certainly help towards a modicum of peace of mind, which is indispensable in developing a sound legal case; lest you decide to escape via a insanity plea, as it were.

Should the outcome of the case be in your favor, you should also contemplate filing a defamation suit, as the current matter brought to light by Mr. Bertelsmann lends to the perception that you are of the peasant class, to society at large.

Let me guess, it was 1&1? This people don't fuck around OP, they will find you soon or later. I owned them £14 at some point. I had to smuggle myself back to East Europe underneath the van. I hided in the mountain village 12 miles from Zakopane. I knew they will find me soon or later so I spent 1 year eating, not exercising, not shaving. One day 1&1 customer services knocked the door of my secret house, shoot my goat and asked if I'm tomaszjot. I said "no, I'm Bofu". They left me alone. Now I sometimes laugh on these memories but the message is you don't fuck with 1&1.

Wow. You know they are the bottom of the barrel collection agency if they are buying up debt's of $78 something dollars. Are you fucking kidding me?

This is what you do. You call them up and tell them that they are a bunch of bottom feeding low lives. Then offer them $10. They probably bought the debt for $5, so they will be happy. If they decline, tell them to fuck off.

They are buying all the debt for OP's hosting company. More than likely OP didnt notify them in writing when he switched hosts. And the company needs a partner to enforce the extortion.
