My kid starts a new school this year. His previous school was inside the neighborhood so he rode his bike to school every morning. Now he would have to take the bus. It is a bus combined with the junior high school so his school (5th and 6th) with 7th and 8th.

There's no way I'm letting him ride a school bus with 8th graders. My husband and I both have horror stories from school buses (what the hell is so evil about school buses???) and while I'm not at all the kind of mom who plays chauffeur when there are other options, I just didn't feel comfortable with it at all. So we'll be carpooling with some other parents in the neighborhood. Fuck the bus.

Why exactly is one of the dad's apologizing for his kid's actions? I'm quite certain if I did that as a kid, my dad wouldn't have went out of his way to apologize for my actions like that. It would have been more my dad sitting in the truck, yelling, "Now get your ass out there, and apologize to her! After that, grab the mower & rake out of the back, and get to work on her yard! Once you're done that, I'll have some paint cans & brushes here for you, and you can get started on that."
