Mr. Costner stamped on a coin - priceless

the stupid thing about this whole BP scenario is that they cannot stop the leak.. was watching a video from this professor of engineering at some nose tilted factory (university for those who are not able to catch on) and apparently todate there is no technology man has available to it that is capable of stopping the 50,000 psi pressure of oil coming out of the ocean floor.

The vid went for like 10 minutes or so but the dude even went on to say that the only 2 options they have is strategically nuke to sucker or punch multiple wholes in the same vein and try to get as much of the oil barrelled as possible...

basically if the nuke option is used and does not work we are technically screwed.... if we go with option 2 they have to do it sooner rather than later or more crazy shit will happen...

Kevin Costner can go back to his little flooded world... it was a crock post about his idea...

lol to the failure picture.... would have to say that while yes I agree with the comment that it works but in this instance there is the potential chance of failure.... there was a full 1 hour report on ABC about it the other night.... sounded like pretty complex stuff..

Watch, they will end up being "forced" to nuke it. Naturally they'll fuck that up too.

Then we'll have oil covered birds with two heads everywhere.

^^^ They'll nuke it, then a hurricane will come along and blow the radioactive water and air onshore, then carry it all the way to the interior states.

This is a PR move just to bring Costner on board, or else risk stirring up the hollywood crowd.

I've heard elsewhere this technology was crap, and there were oil seperators that worked 4 to 5x volume than this one, and that was 10 years ago when they shot this device down for more effective ones. There are already thousands of devices in operation, but it doesn't matter because it's all just a drop in the bucket anyways.

Sorry I just don't get this nuke option. They want to blow up a nuclear bomb on top of a massive oil field. That's got FAIL written all over it.

I read somewhere that Russia has done this on at least five occasions with an 80% success rate.

...But that makes me wonder what in the holy fuck happened in the other 20% of cases.
