Wassup fellow WF'ers?

I'm about to finalize a Kickstarter profile for a new (tangible / non-digital) product I'm developing. The problem is, I'm having a heck of a time trying to think up good pledge rewards for people who pledge monies.
In case you're unfamiliar with how crowdfunding works, basically people can pledge money to your project and in exchange be rewarded gifts, product samples, thank you notes, t-shirts, etc. for their contribution. Pledges obviously get more fancy for upper level pledges.

Some of the typical ideas that most projects have are:
- T-shirt with product/company logo
- X number of free samples of the product once it launches
- Their name credited on the website or product

I might use one or more of these as well, but I really want to come up with something more cool, unique, or a bit different. Things that make people really WANT to pledge!
So what better place to come than Wickedfire's STS to ask you guys for ideas, right?? :) :)

Here's the deal - for every post containing a half ass decent idea, I will post another boob pic like... this one:

I appreciate it guys. Now help me brainstorm!

Personalized dildos, used once by yourself, for that special personal and one of a kind touch.

fuck, Ill throw out some shitty one...

place an ad in the NewYork Times containing the names of the top pledges? It would end up being a little item ( kinda like a shirt ) that they could keep and put somewhere one day if you get famous with the project and they can show all their friends they pledged in you?

I'm so confused.....You want ideas on how to make more people pledge, yet you are fully doing that here by making people DONATE ideas in order to see boobs.

Lets cut to the facts because you obviously know what's up. Lets talk demographics.

Who are these people?
These individuals obviously have disposable income. Make above average income or just spend more than saving due to being young. Above all, they are more likely to be men, who relish in supporting the underdog and investing.

Great so what's my point?
Offer a PDF of tit's. Just do it! Even then, bitches will still donate (that's if they can) because they love comparing themselves. Men will donate because they will acknowledge it as a good deed and the PDF as a plus.

They allow that? If not, offer hacked passwords to the top porn sites. That shit be golden.

Alright. Ignore my first post. But Lets sit back and thinking about why those options are typically available. From the perspective of the person trying to be funded, they offer those services because it is relatively cheap but more importantly successors suggest that it works. Now from the perspective of people donating, EVERYONE wants to either be considered hip and above the game or brag about themselves. T-shirts allows someone to wear that shirt and say to someone " Look the fuck at me, you know I gave this company this amount of money, blah blah blah". The same goes with having their name credited, which is even more so obvious. From a marketers standpoint, both are those great because majority fucktards don't understand they are providing great PR. Anyways that's difference, now we know people's wants. They want to brag, preferable brag with something tangible and mobile. It would be niche to know your niche as you could offer something that supplements your product. For example, you came up with a new fucking mouse, then maybe offering customizable mouse pad.

I think, one of the best things to offer, is a limited edition anything. It makes people feel special and plus allows them to brag about which edition they bought. Perhaps offering you're product but with a customized, limited edition solution?

What about making people feel as if they are apart of the project. Suggest that people who donate will be added to the introduction video and how you were doomed if they hadn't donated. They believed in us and look at us where we are now. Most people want to feel as if they belong. Providing a false sense of that with crowdsourcing may give you the money you need.

Is there a way you can put the pledges name on the product, like maybe in a micro text etched in somewhere where no one would really see it and it be really tiny as not to distract? You wouldnt have to do everyone on 1 product, but like a random name on a product as its made.

Kind of like Jones Soda and how they used peoples pictures on the bottles at random. ( not sure you know Jones Soda )

^^ eliquids got it. Not necessarily the etching, although that's great but with the fact you need to make them feel special.

I think including them in the project is the best way. See what they are interested in, either music, business, art or whatever. You can do this by offering to show people who donate in different categories and in different amounts your overall strategy or goal and then ask for their input. Say that you a band, and the person who is about to donate, chooses $5 instead of $10 because you promote the $10 by saying that whoever donates this amount is obviously very interested. We think that our success is built by the people around us and we would love to share with you our approach to choosing these particular beats. Help us make it to the top!

Everyone wants to belong and everyone wants to be included. Give the bitch something to think that it matters.

I personally dislike it whenever I'm backing something, and the first 3 reward tiers are for shit that is not what I'm backing at all. Why would I want a t-shirt/wallpaper/cheap pen for a non-existent game/watch/documentary? Especially if that's going to eat up the actual funds for the project itself. However, I do like the idea of the higher reward tiers offering more personal involvement with the project such as getting to name a piece of the project or meeting the creators.

How expensive are non-standard changes to make to the product?

Could you offer the top tiers their own one-off custom choice, like colour etc? Everyone likes a unique version of shit.

Also, have you thought about doing numbered editions? What about a signed photograph / personal video of a minor celebrity holding the product (that might be too expensive to do, but you get the idea) ?

Lol, thanks. I doubt it will fly well with Kickstarter but kudos for being creative ;)

Loving the input so far.. keep 'em coming fellas!

Thanks. I've toyed with this idea too, although the product itself doesn't quite lend itself to this being practical.

There are crowd funding sites that you can give equity now. One is UK based Business finance, online investing, crowdfunding for equity : Crowdcube but I am sure there are more. Could be a way to go.

Yeah I thought about that too, although I don't know how well established these things are yet.

Yeah I would want rewards that mean something and aren't just mindless junk.

Yes. Never underestimate people's need for the feeling of feeling important!
