Kindle 3 vs. Nook vs. whatever

I have a Kindle 2, and find the interface a bit clunky but adequate. I don't like the teeny mouse button too much, but the thing saves me a lot of space and I was able to get rid of some paper volumes. I keep it plugged in and stacked with books on the book shelf.

Calibre is a good free program for ebook processing that is compatible with several e-readers. It works with pdf, and you can choose your output format.

Yeah, ereaders are getting really cheap. You can get the sponsored kindle for like $120, that leaves like ~$400 for another tablet. I mean, I could either get an ereader and a tablet or a crappy laptop.

I think I just going to wait for the $99 price point for most of the major models and then see where the tablets are. Since I don't really want to read heavily on an lcd (at least not without some sort of f.lux or redshift equivalent) and dropping ~$500 is about my limit for this sort of thing and that will get you about two tablets.

Oh, ok...didn't realize you were considering an dreaded a tablet...

I have an iPad and iBooks, kindle app, and nook app all have features similar to f.lux...
eink is still better though

Love my Kindle for reading, however, it's been replaced twice. Both times because the screen went bad. Never dropped them, or abused them in anyway. Luckily, Amazon rocks and just sends out a new one for free, free return shipping for the old as well. The second time it happened was a few months ago, and I've had it for a couple years now. Way out of warranty.

That kind of service, IMO, puts the Kindle on top of the heap.

Pretty cool about the service but it's a shame to have the problem to begin with. Considering the Nook just because of form factor and layout.

Thanks for the info either way
