Kiwi Spammer fined $16mil !



The question is how much has he made from spamming. In the one case of the $100,000 fine he had earned $2 million from the campaign. It's a no brainer.
 
They sent billions of emails directing recipients to websites advertising bogus male enhancement drugs and weight loss pills shipped from India, which they falsely claimed had come from a licensed pharmacy in the US.

Atkinson and Smith allegedly controlled a "botnet" of 35,000 computers, capable of sending 10 billion email messages a day.

Servers in China hosted the websites and the drugs were shipped from India, while operatives in Cyprus and the former Soviet republic of Georgia processed credit card information.

Three million complaints were lodged against the spammers in a six-month period against Atkinson's Australian-registered company, Inet Ventures, which was one of four companies peddling prescription drugs targeted by the FTC.

This isn't your normal berry slinging e-mailer. The dude was running a scam. The FTC would've started their investigation years ago into him.

Just another example of them going after a big player, not the small ones.
 
The FTC are about as useful as a pocket pussy in Nevada. Only targeting the news worthy chumps.
 
dumbasses, get in and get out... this shit wont last forever unless you build a real corp around the shit. FTC is a bitch. how can the fed get global on your ass.. no one is safem time to get invisible.
 
The problem with him is he just wasn't spamming he was running all types of phishing schemes and fraud schemes. Still though he gets a few months in prison and a fine that is probably 1/8th of what he made. Doesn't sound too bad.
