Dude, I watch that Conan gif in your sig at least one repetition every time you make a post. That shit is hilarious.

lol. Conan is the man. On a side note, anybody else jizz in their pants over animated gifs? I've got hundreds of them.

For those who liked Ender's game make sure that you follow up with Ender's Shadow. It happens at the same time as Ender's Game just told from Bean's perspective. Like it better even.

As far as fictions I've been really digging historical based fictions..

Shogun by James Clavell (best book ever, masterpiece based in feudal Japan)

The Lieutenants by WEB Griffin (Starts at end of WWII and goes into a 9 book series)

Ya know, if you want to read about the craziest shit you could never imagine...read some history books. While some fantasy series like Ender's Game and (forgive me for mentioning the two in the same sentence) Wheel of Time are well written and enveloping, reading about human history is truly fascinating.
For me, knowing that what I am reading actually happened adds some extra kick to it but I really love slowly putting together all of the little pieces of the incredibly fucking huge and ridiculously fucking complicated puzzle that is the world as it exists today.
For some stories that will really blow your mind check out books documenting the Warlord period in early 20th century China; that era's equivalent of today's billionaires funding their own private armies and waging war against each other for years on end while seeking to amass the largest and wealthiest private fiefdoms possible. Or check out what went down during the People's Revolution and the Great Leap Forward (possibly the most ironic name EVER!!!!!!!!).

Supernatural/Action fiction: Repairman Jack series by F. Paul Wilson.
Fantasy: Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy by Tad Williams is very good also.

Add me as another vote for Ender's Game as well, that is a *must* for anyone that hasn't read it yet. Song of Ice and Fire series is also great, though, it would be nice if the next book came out sometime this century.

urgh... the wheel of time?

The first three books were great, after that, it just dissolves into fail.

Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson - Very long, but if you're into math, science or computers, you'll like it. Even though it was written in 1999, it still holds up pretty well.

The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand.

I haven't read her Atlas Shrugged yet, but going to this summer :)
I liked The Fountainhead better personally, but AS is also very good.

Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. Should be required reading for all.
Ok, I don't want to be creepy, but I have to say how cool it is that fine women are frequently into Ayn Rand. It's super double thumbs up.

The Dune series - Frank and Brian Herbert.
Oh yes. The Tyrant!

Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson - Very long, but if you're into math, science or computers, you'll like it. Even though it was written in 1999, it still holds up pretty well.
If you like pop sci-fi, Snow Crash is good as well. Diamond Age is hard sci-fi and very clever Anarcho-Victorianism.
