Latest Photos of Sandy

EiicM.jpg

The shark swimming in front of the house in New Jersey. There are different ones created by Kevin McCarty, who actually lives there, but he inserted a shark into the otherwise real photos.

You guys realize the shark photos are fake right?

What is this thing your people call photo-shops?

Foreign concept to me; even thought it is constantly explained to me.

Unfortunately, idiots started posting photo-shopped images, in a thread detailing the REAL effects of what is going on. This is called MIS-INFORMATION.

Now some idiot is going to run off and start rumors and gossip stating there are sharks in the water. Even though in the very first shark post, it links to an news report, that goes onto claim it was photoshopped. Do you think the masses of people that have been claiming there are sharks took the time to read it?

This defeats the purpose of the thread on what's really going on in the areas devastated by the storm. This is why, I created a completely different thread, since all the other ones, where for the most part in bad taste and are trolling. I live in Miami Beach, I see multiple hurricanes every fucking year, nothing new, put up shutters. But then again, we are built for this shit. We don't have underground subways or even basements for that matter. These people up there are not built for this shit, so it's a major problem when a category 1 hurricane comes - at first I thought it was a little humorous too, but when you start seeing photos come in, shit get serious real quick.

So now we got fucking fakes sharks, that people will misconstrue as probably being real. Good job bro. Any more stupid comments?

you're at wickedfire. Home of kids with computers and no life. They dont understand social needs nor have compassion for anything beyond their computer. sad but true.

wasting your breath.

I wish Jon would ban some of these guys so they can learn what life is about.

Great picture posts.

For sure, that's why I said traditional. I meant church's interpretation.
I have only love and respect for Jesus. Christian church? Not so much. Perhaps there are some saints, holy men, good priests, etc. that get it, but most have no clue.

Exactly. It is just our limited minds interpret stuff that happens as bad or good. Bad for who? God is beyond limitations, beyond time and space, cause and effect. Can timeless care about time-bound events?

Maybe you've personally had bad experiences with churches, but that's not the case for everyone.

In my area, churches do a ton to feed, shelter & take care of the poor, needy and homeless. Most are doing it in ways that blow government run agencies out of the water. One I worked with for several years was feeding people on 50c a day per person with almost no paperwork required. The closest comparable government program was spending $5-$10 a day per person, and required a background check, tax statements and a 2 week waiting period (Regardless of whether you had food or not).

if you look closely at these images, you can see sharks in the water. I dont know how they got there. maybe the hurricane swept them in from the ocean.

I'm not the one claiming sharks are in the city. Or photoshopping such pics. I can't most of the time, since I generally read wickefire while I wait for a script to execute, or for someone to answer, or while I eat... I don't have time to photoshop crap.

I also know about this thing called reading.

BTW, great pics, really drives home the meaning of the storm. Which is many times hard to gauge, since media love to sell fear or minimize things, whatever is in their interest.

I figured I'd just offer a contrast to how Florida handles these storms compared to the north. (Now, I'm sure we'd shut down if we had a blizzard... just offering a contrast.)

Friday morning I stepped outside and took some photos of Sandy on it's way to ravage the mid-Atlantic and NYC. [This is from Palm Beach, Florida]

It's hard to tell, but those winds were well over 70mph (and the sand hurt like a bitch), while the waves were hitting 45ft in height. I would of went closer to the water... but I didn't feel like dying.

But... the only flooding I found even near my house was this on Saturday morning.

Fortunately I didn't get hit and didn't really lose power. It felt like a normal rain day with a lot of wind. My dad says they got hit though and has no power and trees everywhere.

I wanted to really experience this, with flooding and all. Yeah, I'm weird.

lmfao, this is hilarious. dude is boss.

You guys weren't hit directly, nor were you north of its path.

Thank you Accuweather, not that the northside matters (the hardest hitting side of a hurricane is the southeast side).

I was merely contributing to the forum and offering pictures from actual users here. And there are enough down branches in my neighborhood to say that the storm system did hit us with its outer bands.

Yet, if you want to go in to the whole South Florida vs rest of the east coast hurricane preparedness debate then feel free to do it alone, the last tropical storm to hit us was DIRECTLY over my house for over my neighborhood for weekend and it didn't do shit... I didn't even bother to take photos because all it would of been good for is the before photos of a raking service lander.

BTW, there is a reason most of WF thinks your a tool and it's not your silly twink profile pic.

I would have loved to have seen 45fters in person. That has to be nuts.
