Is it worth it ?
Hazzan for example thought that "Learn PHP in 24hours" is a good book.
Personally i think PHP sucks shit, is a weak language and a language like python is much better. (granted this was back in the days of php 3 vs python 1.5, php has changed alot). But many people make pretty amazing shit with php and a lot comes down to personal preference, learning style etc.
For me I got into BH because of circumstances. I had always been arround computers most of my life. And despite not having a formal education in programming etc, after I got out of the military I was able to make a pretty good living from it.
Anyway because living costs are a lot lower and since i was under contract i moved to PH. For like $1-$2K a month u can live like a king.
In a nutshell i lost my contract. Anyway I looked at my options. In PH there are like 10 million graduates from top notch universities all looking for jobs. Me I have no education, can not speak local language very well, getting a job is not really an option.
So i look at what assets i have. I have a laptop, a good net connection. Enuff savings to last me like 3-4 months. I also have good coding skills.
So i figgered i have to make $$$ online. Along the way I found syndk8.
When i joined I had no idea what adsense was, no idea what an affiliate was. I had no idea how to collect $$$ online. I wasted like
Anyway along the way i partnered up with bomps. He showed me the basics. How to find an affiliate, basic theory of how to rank in search engines, how to make doorways etc.
I now made enuff $$$ to buy beach house, and i make more then what i made doing contract work.
In someways i wonder if it is karma. Politically I used to lean towards the leftist side. I used to think that commercialization of the net was wrong. I also believed that all information should be free. I used to think people should only purchase products which where quality products and useful.
To be honest i still kinda believe those things
. But majority of the world does not.
So is bomps site worth the $$$, that is up to the individual. He can supply the tools, know how etc, but it is up to the individual what he does with it.
Will the individual be successful, well it all depends what s/he does with the information
