lease almost over...what to get next?

By reading this thread you clearly want a ZR1.

You defend the car in every post so just get the fucking thing...

And yeah it will be the best bang for your buck unless you wanna skip up to $300,000.

ZR1 is probably the best bang for the buck, and on a short list for best bang period. You might get more pussy with an Italian car though.

I think I've posted this before but...

Wholy shit! Talk about getting your blood flowing, I gotta get my ass in some racing classes pronto!

I found your car....

FYI...

The viper is the only V-10 mentioned. And that's a big block too. Even if close to the vette with stock numbers, you can imagine that a few simple mods would put the viper well ahead for out of this world speed / performance.

Although I'm not sure if its a good idea to do things like port the heads, change the chip, dynmax flow, whipple charger, etc on a lease, but the right mods will probably bring a 10 cylinder to over 900+ hp.

Have you seen the Hennessey Viper's acceleration run? It turns sideways through third gear. Having ridiculous amounts of power is great, if you can get it to the ground. The z06 is supposed to be somewhat bad for inexperienced drivers, but the zr1 is more 'refined.' If mods are the case, then just get a ls2/ls3, heads/cam/turbo/exhaust and then be up there power-wise, just good luck keeping it planted.

paying cash for a car is stupid, why pour assets into a depreciating item

dont forget the potential loss of return/income of making 100k work for you

i suppose if your going to leave cash in the bank getting 3% a year, yeah buy a car with cash.

get a 2nd hand porsche GT2

My daily driver is a '06 E55 AMG. When it comes down to it on *the street* at a light if I simply mash the pedal I can outrun nearly everything I come accross, including many of the cars mentioned here. No issues with wheelspin, no missed shifts, no kidneys aching on a 3 hour weekend getaway. And all while getting my ass massaged by the seats.

For a daily driver go AMG, but go USED. If you don't want a E look at a CL55. Mod-wise, pulley/tune on the 55 Kompressor engine and you're into real serious territory. Mid 11's in an old man sedan is legit.

I used to have an old chev 4x4 with vette lt6 engine (rebuilt with a big 850 holley) and would switch to 4hi and blow away a lot of sports cars, but when you square off with a 454 with ladders and 30's you won't lead for long.

Lots of great cars like audi/porsche etc, but sometimes its just shere horsepower thats the way to go.

We forgot one. The bad boy of the bunch!

Bugatti Veyron
This is the widow maker.

This shit is insane. Not anywhere my first choice for looks but check the specs;

1,094 hp
966 ft·lb of torque!!

The engine;
16 cylinders in two banks of eight cylinders, or the equivalent of two narrow-angle V8 engines mated in a "W" configuration

0 - 60 mph = 2.5 seconds
:338:

Top speed;
407.6 kilometres per hour (253.3 mph)
vette top 205 mph / viper 192.6 mph

The Bugatti Veyron has a total of 10 radiators!
  • 3 radiators for the engine cooling system.
  • 1 heat exchanger for the air-to-liquid intercoolers.
  • 2 for the air conditioning system.
  • 1 transmission oil radiator.
  • 1 differential oil radiator.
  • 1 engine oil radiator.
  • 1 hydraulic oil radiator for the spoiler.

By the way...

The cost of the first scheduled service on a Veyron is £13,645 ($22,322), with later services getting more expensive. Tires need to be replaced approximately every 4,000 kilometres (2,500 mi). The cost of tires for a Veyron is £6,325 ($10,347) a set, and they can only be fitted by Bugatti.

Bugatti says that labour is the bulk of the cost at £6,000 ($9,815), which also includes checking the many complex systems on the car. At every third tire change, the roadwheels must be replaced. If the original new car 2 year warranty wants to be extended, it will cost an extra £38,000 ($62,164) for 1 year, and £63,000 ($103,062) for 2 years.

WTF!!??!!

If you are seriously looking at the Z-R1 you should take a look at the Callaway, especially the SC652 (it's based on the 427 LS7 motor) before you drop cash. 652hp, 0-60 3.3sec 1/4 mile 10.8sec and 3yr warranty and only $24k, plus car, much cheaper than the ZR-1.
