Leaving Hostgator (Reccomend company?)

I've been using Host1Plus - relatively medium company, therefore great upkeed and price. Never opted for the big dogs as they simply do not care for one customer if you are not paying big cash to them.
 


Loved webair but have moved on to Knownhost. Excellent service that has great customer service and sensational prices on their hosting packages.
 
Simply move to some small company instead of big company. They will give nothing and only downtime and lot of issues.

Use your brain and don't go on suggestion of others. If any company is best then it will be only for you and not for others.
 
Everyone I think could use updated information. We also never know if he still is currently searching for a new host. :)

I am thinking of running with one of beyond hostings vps plans or Softlayer's dedicated. I know dedicated will be almost double the price.. would it be that much of a difference in reliablity/speed ? Also if there is something better at a better price/quality etc please let me know
