Let's Discuss Scrapebox

Ok, I have absolutely ZERO experience using a tool like this. I'm old school and have either done all my link building by hand or hired it out. However, I'd like to try this thing out and see what it can do. My question is this, what is the best way for a newb like me to use Scrapebox and not do any major damage to my sites? Would it be best to experiment with it on my link wheel properties, not on my money sites? I don't want to do 5000 comments a day or anything, just something I can use on an "under the radar" level consistently to help boost my rankings on some of my older, under performing sites. I'm ready to buy this baby, but just want to make sure I don't go fucking things up.

-scrape proxies
-scrape keywords
-scrape urls
-check url PR
-filter by some minimum amount
-remove duplicate domains
-post manually on that generated list
-throw some d's

I've been using it mostly to blast links several tiers removed from my money site. Like, I've been using Senuke to build a mininet of web 2.0 properties, bookmarking them, then building profile links to the bookmarks (sometimes splitting the profile links into two tiers), then blasting the profiles with scrapebox comments. Honestly I don't know if that's optimum, but it hasn't caused any damage and I've been building a lot of links.

What I like about SB is that it comes prepackaged. So when you unzip it you can either configure the files around a domain or niche. I set each niche in its own SB folder and tailor everything around that niche. In that SB file I save all my completed work. All keywords, pings, trackbacks, comments and whatever are all focused on the niche.

So when ever you scale up in that niche all you do add your websites and you are ready to go.

For newbs I recommend regging a new domain and either buy a shared hosting account for your new site or setup a reseller on your current host and dedicate an ip. Then if you can successfully build links to your new site and keep off of the spam radar and sandbox then you are ready for your link wheels and money sites.

What is interesting is peeps typically treat link wheels as shit, test domains. in reality though if you can grow your wheels it will bring the money site up with it.

I'm currently working on using Scrapebox more aggressively in order to generate high #'s of bl's.

Obviously i'm trying to bypass askimet for as long as possible during these runs..

Do we have any information as to how askimet works? My best guess says that the two things it really focuses on blacklisting is:

a. URLs
b. IPs

A. If you have a large website list (a.k.a linkwheels), then this should reduce askimet's effectiveness.

B. I think this is the where i'm getting killed. Back in the day I picked up 64 shared proxes from ProxyBonanza and blasted comments hard. They were extremely effective for about a week and then they all became blacklisted around the exact same time.

This makes me think that askimet is truly based of your comments getting marked as spam, and it doesn't have effective automatic spam filters in place.

Given the above, I'm thinking about trying this out.

1. Buy the smallest proxy bonanza shared IP package.
2. Grab my linkwheel (20+ sites).
3. Attempt to whitelist my ip's + linkwheel through manual commenting.
a. This should mitigate the initial impact of links getting marked as spam.
4. Hit a huge blog list in one day.

I guess i'm looking at this from a mailing perspective, which I think is appropriate. The whole goal of this is to "inbox" as many blog comments as possible before the askimet filters kick in.

I'll give it a try and post back w/ my results.

Ok, I'm in. I'll give this thing a shot and see what it can do. Glad I stumbled on this thread.

I'm already not liking that you have to wait for a registration email to be able to use the thing. I want to use it NOW...not a while from now.

got a n00b question...after skimmin thru this...if scrapebox dishes shit out for backlinks/comments within minutes...what's the point of me finding tools to scrape proxies, kws, urls etc?

1. It scrapes proxies for you.
2. It doesn't harvest/obtain keywords for you.
3. It harvests urls for you.

This isn't an all-encompassing SEO program, but it gets the job done for blog commenting.

What do you mean? As in why do you need a proxy scraper if you have scrapebox? Cause if that's the case, you don't need other tools until you need more automated systems. Scrapebox is a good general purpose tool. When you need exact tools, you should build your own/get them built. Never jimmy rig
